Chapter 7:

Juliet's POV

I totally just bombed that test.

It's a definite F.

I shake my head as I walk through the congested hallway. The bell ending 4th period had just rung, meaning I had lunch next. I speed-walk through the school until I feel a sharp pain in my head and a force pushes me down.

"Ugh," I moan out and clutch my head where the pain was. I reluctantly open my eyes to find a stranger looking down at me, eyes wide and a hand over his mouth.

"I'm so sorry," he says and takes the hand from his mouth and sticks it out for me to take it. I take his hand and he pulls me up. When I'm standing up, I see that he's almost half a foot taller than me. He has hazel-ish eyes and light brown hair that sort of reminded me of Justin Bieber.

"No, it was my fault for not looking where I was going," I say, "I'm just upset because I'm pretty sure I just failed a test."

"What class?" He asks.

"Maths," I laugh.

"I have that class after lunch," he informs me.

"Do you have lunch now?" I ask.

"Yeah, actually."

"Do you want to--"

~

"Hello?" The boy who knocked me over asks, running a hand in front of my face.

"Oh, sorry, I was...thinking," I reply and I feel a blush creep up my cheeks.

"Sorry, again, but I've got to go now," the boy says and walks off.

I sigh. I wish my life was that easy, that I could just have a normal conversation with a stranger. I bet you Louis can do that. Yet, I can't.

I walk the rest of the way to lunch. When I enter the cafeteria, I search the crowd to find my table. I walk over to it, set my stuff down and wait for my friends to fill the table.

I laugh, asking, "Are you serious?"

Emily laughs with me and Lily just blushes.

"I wouldn't mind having a decent partner," Lily defends herself.

"I wouldn't say Louis is decent, though," I point out.

"I just think he's nice, okay?" Lily says.

"Whatever, Lily. You keep thinking that," Emily says and grabs her sandwich and continues to eat it.

"Let me give you some advice," I start, "Louis is a wild card, Lil. He can be a good person or a bad person. You never know which one. If I were you, I'd stay away from him." I pick up a French fry from Emily's plate and wiggle it towards Lily, then eat it.

"I don't care," Lily states. "Hey, how do you know this?"

I come up with something quick: "He has the locker next to mine, remember? I sometimes can't help but overhear his conversations."

Lily shrugs.

"I just want him as an English partner and there's nothing wrong with that. Everyone wants him as their partner. It's not a big deal."

"I think he's not that great," Emily says. "I don't see the reason why he's so popular and we're just...us."

"I one-hundred percent agree with you, Em," I say. "He's just a big dork is what he is."
