Life moved slow. Raven was bound in the hospital bed for 2 months, not allowed to leave besides to use the bathroom.
2 months later the doctors took the cast off and did more MRIs and X-rays. The bones were healed, however the tendons and ligaments were still a mess. They put on a leg brace that she wasn't allowed to take off. Luckily they thought she was ready to be discharged. They sent Mom home with a wheelchair, and some crutches and an antsy Raven.
"Mom when will we be home?" Raven asked
"5 more minutes," Mom answered, "How you doing hun."
"It could be better, but i'm hanging in there. I go this Ma." Raven smiled

Bye Bye Bye came on the radio and Mom cranked it. Raven and Mom jammed in the car for the rest of the ride.
Getting home was weird. Raven couldn't do anything with her siblings like ATVing or playing outside. She felt excluded, but more included then when she was at the hospital.

2 more months passed and the doctors gave Raven the go to start walking again. It had been almost 5 months and Raven had been waiting for this day for too long.
It was rough at first, activating and Raven had several breakdowns. But she got the hang of it after a while. The brace may be a semi permanent accessory, but she was walking again and that's all that mattered to her.

That's the day Raven learned that patience in key.
