Kageyama Tobio×Hinata Shoyo
Fluff
-warmth-
-------------------«3rd Person P.O.V.»
The thunder roared louder and another lightning came with it. Rain was heavily pouring outside, and the strong winds made the trees outside sway.
"Ugh... I'm soaking wet."
Hinata groans as he felt uncomfortable as his soaked shirt clung unto him. His unkempt orange locks was sticked on his forehead, but he soon slicked it back from annoyance.
They had sheltered themselves from the heavy rain under a small wooden shed.
"You're an idiot for not bringing an umbrella," The taller man beside him spoke, also soaking wet.
"Ha?! Well, look at you, bringing an umbrella that's so useless because the rain is too strong!"
"Tch." Kageyama clicked his tongue, "Since my house isn't that far, then I'm gonna make a run for-"
The setter was cut off when the thunder suddenly crackles, making him flinch. His heart pounded like it was about to burst.
"..."
"What were you saying again?" Hinata asks, raising a brow.
"N-Nothing."
"Eh... then, we just have to wait until the rain goes away."
Hinata rummaged in his bag before fishing out a dry towel, saying that he was lucky that the contents of his bag wasn't soaked as he wipes himself with it.
"...Yeah."
As another series of loud thunders was heard, Kageyama suddenly warps his arms around the smaller man's torso from behind, eliciting a squeak from him.
"K-Kageyama?!"
The raven haired buried his face on Hinata's shoulder, squeezing the smaller man tighter.
'It's... warm.'
Hinata could feel the setter's warmth and his pounding heart against his back. A small blush colored his cheeks. He was confused at the sudden hug from Kageyama, his heart started to beat faster.
As the smaller man felt Kageyama flinch when another thunder came, he realized.
"A-Are you afraid of thunders?" The smaller man could feel Kageyama's raven locks stick onto his neck.
"...No."
"Really?"
"...So what if I am."
The sound of heavy rain hitting against the pavement outside filled in the silence.
"It's fine to be scared sometimes, you know." Hinata suddenly speaks.
"..."
"Wait, lemme turn around for a bit."
Kageyama loosened his hug and allowed the smaller man before him to face him. Hinata was lifting up his arms, ready to hug.
"What?"
"It's fine, you can hug me." The smaller man says, "I won't laugh at you or anything."
The raven haired looks away, "No thanks. I'd rather-"
Another loud thunder interrupts him again, making him flinch and instantly hug Hinata. Kageyama felt a pair of arms wrap around him.
"It's fine."
Hinata pats the taller man's back with a smile. After a few minutes, another series of thunders kept coming. Hinata was rubbing circles on Kageyama's back to calm him down.
"I'm here, so it's fine."
As those words left Hinata's lips, he felt the taller man hug him tighter.
"Dumbass."
"What? I'm trying to comfort you, 'ya know?"
"Shut up."
"Why don't we sit down? My legs are gonna go numb if we stand longer like this."
They both pulled away from the hug awkwardly. Though, Kageyama pulled Hinata down as he sat down on the wooden floor.
He sat the smaller man in between his thighs, and wrapped his arms around Hinata. Th raven haired buries his face on the crook of Hinata's neck.
"Just like this." Kageyama mumbles.
Both sat down like that, comfortable with each other and enjoyed the warmth they shared under the cold weather. No words were spoken. Hinata could feel the faint beating of Kageyama's heart.
The raven haired was confused, why does it seem like he calms down when he hugs Hinata? He's getting addicted to the warmth he feels from the smaller man- to him, it felt like home.
They dozed off not long after, Hinata in Kageyama's arms. Both indulging in each other's warmth.
-------
"Oi, wake up, dumbass."
His eyes fluttered open as he heard the faint voice, seeing the raven hair before him.
"Huh?"
"We dozed off for thirty minutes. The rain stopped now, so we can go home."
"Oh..." Hinata rubs his eyes, yawning before getting on his feet, "Okay."
The raven haired could not meet the gaze of Hinata, feeling embarrassed about earlier.
"Let's go~"
The two of them went out of the shed, silently walking beside each other. The smaller man would glance at Kageyama.
The setter felt embarrassed and anxious about what happened. He expects Hinata to laugh or tease him any moment now.
The King is afraid of thunders? How ridiculous-
"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. So don't put up such a scary face!"
Kageyama looks at the smaller man beside him for a second, then looks away.
"T...T-Thanks."
A grin carved on Hinata's lips, feeling proud of himself, "No problem!"
Hinata paused from his tracks, causing the setter to look at him and stop, "Then, I'm heading this side. See 'ya!" he said, getting on his bike.
"Yeah."
As they both parted ways, their faces flushed. The warmth when they hugged lingers.
