Frosty Revenge

It didn't take long to find out about my mother. First they told me she had passed, but it was actually detective Iris West that told me everything else. "As much as I hate to say it..." She said to me. "Everyone else honestly thinks it's you who did it." I denied it, I never even wanted to see her. I may have hated her, but I wouldn't have killed her. She showed me the photos from the crime scene. "We also found this footage from outside your mom's office before the attack." She said. We watched the footage to see a boy starting to walk into the office, then stop and look at the camera. He walked over and climbed near it, putting his hand on it. The screen suddenly began to static, but we heard every word. "Do you know of any reason your mother would try to kill anyone?" Iris asked. I shook my head. "She never seemed like that type of person." I told her. Iris nodded and tried to talk me into going with her for protection. "Not interested." I said. "I already know a way to find him myself." I told her to leave the police out of this. And to my surprise, she actually backed off. I never heard anything from the police again and went to inform my group of what was happening. "Alright Bryn, how often does Elemental Ray show up?" I asked. Bryn explained that it's almost daily. "He's always coming around the same location." She said. I had made up my mind that we were going to get Nate. "We get him, we find Frost Assassin." I said as everyone suited up. "Are you sure this is a good idea to face him?" Edna asked. "We don't even know what he's capable of." I agreed with her, but I wasn't backing out. We went to the location where Nate had appeared before. I saw him in the distance just walking around like he was normal. Whenever he was just across the street from me, I threw an icicle towards him, landing right in front of his face. It got stuck in a brick wall and Nate jumped back. I was already about to grab him when he turned around. He tried to run off but I grabbed him and froze his arm before he could go anywhere. "Alright where is he?" I asked him. "It doesn't matter." He said as he melted the ice from his arm. "He knows you better than you think." He blasted a fireball at me and started flying off. Redlight quickly caught up with him and swung him to the ground. Flash Bolt then grabbed him and speed threw him across the street. Nate then threw a large fireball at her, which was caught by Deathstorm. Deathstorm then threw the fireball back at Nate, who created a giant wave that extinguished it. We all used our powers on him at once. Nate struggled to keep himself up and fell to the ground. Suddenly his eyes began to glow and he pushed his hands towards us, creating a strong wind that knocked us back. We all flew in different directions but thankfully remained unharmed. Nate then raised up his hands as the metal from the buildings wrapped around us. "You're really stupid enough to face Frost Assassin just because of one death?" He asked me. "Believe me, he won't go any easier on you than he did her." I tried to free myself from the metal, but it was too thick to get through. The metal was even too tough for Jessica to phase through. "Frost Assassin only wants me, why?" I asked him. Nate shook his head as he walked towards me. "He's just got some stuff to deal with." He said. "And my mother..." I said. "Why would she try to kill him." Nate didn't answer, instead he tightened the grip of the metal. "Yeah Frosty, I got the group." He said into a communicator in his ear. "I'll be sure to deliver them right to you." He hung up and removed the metal from us. We started attacking him when he used the rocks below us to grab all except Deathstorm. "Sorry Ronnie." Nate said throwing a large rock at him. The rock hit him and knocked to a wall. He immediately fell to the ground unconscious. "Ronnie!" I called out. I immediately froze the traps and broke us all free. "Jessica, get him out of here." Jessica nodded and raced him back to our place. The rest of us immediately started attacking Nate at once and Jessica joined not long after. After a while of fighting, Nate created the stone traps, this time adding lava cracks to mine and Edna's. The lava stopped our powers from affecting the trap. "Alright, let's get going." He said to us. Nate turned himself into stone and came towards us. A strange particle effect appeared behind him, but I couldn't tell what it was. Suddenly a hand grabbed Nate, flipping him to the ground. It was Ruby. Ruby walked over and hit the stone traps, breaking them into pieces. "Alright Nate, you know who wants you." She said. "Don't make this hard on yourself." Nate refused to listen and started going after her. Ruby punched him in the side so hard that he ended up returning to his original form, holding it in pain. Ruby then quickly gave some punches and knocked him out. "Looks like you've been busy." She said to us. "Really wish you three weren't here though." She said turning to Jessica, Edna and Bryn. "Why?" Jessica asked. Ruby sighed and looked at them. "Because the person who wants him, also wants you." She answered. "He actually says you've met before." She said to Jessica. "Who is he?" Jessica asked her. "That depends..." Ruby said as she grabbed Nate. "You know anyone named Dalton?" She asked. Jessica quickly looked very annoyed and rolled her eyes. "Wish I didn't." She said. "I thought we were done with that guy."
