(A/N): I know this is starting slow, but I love a good, slow burn. Don't worry, I have a plan ;)
Every morning after that for the next week, Taehyung would locate Jungkook and sit near him while he painted.
When Tae first pinned Jungkook as a person of interest to him, he did not expect the young, hot painter to be incredibly charming, funny, and muscular.
It almost wasn't fair to see how good he was at everything, including talking.
His effortless suave demeanor coupled with easy humor made him all the more magnetic, and Taehyung could not help but be drawn towards him.
Jungkook was surprised at the mannerisms of the prince, expecting him to be proper and quite rude, really.
Most people that look as good as he did pride themselves on that singular fact, so much so that they forget to have a personality.
Taehyung was quite the opposite.
As stunning as his appearance was, it was nothing compared to the spectacular being hidden within those gorgeous brown eyes.
He was so warm and welcoming, odd and strange in a way that made him endearing and unique.
Jungkook would often find him playing with the grass in the garden, talking to the birds as if he knew them, and making tiny flower crowns for the squirrels that he brought nuts for, luring them towards him only for them to scamper away.
He made Jungkook laugh, and found him easier to talk to than anyone he had ever met.
Every day, Jungkook was a little earlier to arrive at the palace, yet a little later to arrive back home. To Jungkook and Taehyung's dismay, the paintings were being finished much too quickly.
Taehyung did not miss that Jungkook's work became noticeably slower (Jungkook called it being 'deliberate' and 'careful').
Jin noticed the change in his son, always skipping around and being late to dinner, yet with a smile he could not wipe off his face.
However, Jin also caught the changes in Namjoon.
His beloved had been dealing with the tensions from the Anti Kingdom, specifically the spies from that war-bent kingdom that had been found with increasing frequency.
Namjoon had been missing more dinners, coming to bed later, and furrowing his brow much more than before all the tensions had increased due to the high success of the Kim Kingdom and the house of Bangtan.
That night, Jin knew Namjoon needed more rest, and before he went to bed, padded over to the study across from their bedroom.
When Namjoon heard the door open, He jumped and looked up quickly, almost looking defensive.
He smiled weakly when he saw the concerned face of his loving husband.
"Joonie please, get some rest," Jin pleaded as he walked over to the desk and wrapped his arms around Namjoon's shoulders, kissing his temple.
To Jin's surprise, Namjoon rose out of his chair and grabbed the elder's hand, intertwining their fingers.
"Alright then. Let's go. I'm tired anyways," Namjoon said slowly, while his quick steps toward their bed contrasted with the tone of his voice while dragging Jin with him.
Just the touch of Namjoon's hand thrilled Jin, as he collapsed on the bed directly after his husband.
He felt that same warm hand pulling at his waist, and Jin easily complied, allowing the tired politician to cuddle him and hold him close, savoring the loving touch. It would never get old.
"I'm sorry I've missed this for so many nights in a row," Namjoon murmured against Jin's neck, his deep voice sending pleasing vibrations down his spine. "I fear the Antis are planning something, and I can't let my guard down. There are so many spies Jinnie...." He trailed off.
Jin flipped around, wrapping his right arm around Namjoon and pulling him close, gently placing a hand on his cheek.
"You are doing your best work, and I trust you and your advisors to know what is best. Please don't keep burdens like this to yourself," Jin lovingly pleaded, stroking Namjoon's mouth with his thumb.
"I know you're concerned for my safety, but as am I for yours. We are a team."
Namjoon cupped Jin's cheek and closed the distance between them, softly touching his lips to the elder's.
Jin seemed to smile before deepening the kiss, pulling him even closer, making Namjoon see stars much brighter than those in the sky.
After a while, Namjoon pulled away, breathless and grinning at his husband.
"I love you," he whispered.
"You'd better," Jin smirked, before flipping back over to become the little spoon again.
They snuggled back in before Namjoon remembered, "Who did you say you picked tor Tae?"
"He's coming tomorrow Joon, OH My God did you forget???? The Park family would be very disappointed in you," Jin chastised, slapping Namjoon's arm.
"Ah, so you did choose Jimin," Namjoon smiled, returning his arm to its favorite place.
"Yes, you idiot now shut up and get some sleep before I give you that pill again to force it out of you."
