(A/N): Thank you all for reading this far! My exams are finally over, so I can get back to writing more regularly. I think it's time to get this story moving ;)
.................................................................................
A dark figure paced inside a tavern guest room, anxiously awaiting news from the member stationed as a palace guard.
Suddenly, she heard the door click as a key was jerked out of the lock, making her jump and turn quickly, on the defensive.
"Doyoung, you're late," she muttered, clearly upset at the younger for not doing his job.
"Sorry ma'am, but I have some news.... Namjoon is planning to up security at the mines again," he quickly began.
"I was aware of that, numbskull, I want the new news." She shook his shoulders lightly glaring deep into his soul.
"Ah, yes well, we may not have as long as we thought to woo the prince...."
Her face morphed from anger into shock, removing her hands from the shoulders of her best spy and resuming her pacing, gesturing for him to continue.
"He seems to have fallen for an artist."
She whirled around, cloak flapping as she flew to the door, locking it and grabbing his shoulders once again.
"Which one Doyoung? WHICH. ONE." She whisper-yelled.
Although she was asking the question, her face told Doyoung that she already knew.
"Jeon Jungkook," he whispered, lowering his eyes and staring at the floor.
She threw her hands in the air and then ran them through her dark locks, underneath the hood hiding her identity from any that might see her conspiring against the crown.
"I've worked for so long to exact my revenge on Namjoon, and my measly fucking step-son has to show his pretty face at the palace for a month and ruin everything," she trembled with anger, threatening to give away their purpose to any royal guards lurking around the tavern.
"I hate to tell you this Mina, but we may need a new plan. Taehyung has been following him around for weeks now," Doyoung said nervously.
"So why, exactly, am I just finding out about this NOW?" she burst.
"I could have stopped this from the beginning, before he even had a chance. Now I have to fix it from behind," her palm flew to her forehead and her fingers raked down her face as she thought."I'll just have to send a distraction," she said, knowing that Doyoung would infer what she was planning.
"Sending Taeyong won't work. Park Jimin is already there and nothing will keep Taehyung from drooling over Jungkook all day," he grumbled.
"Have you met Taeyong?" she growled.
"Have you seen your step-son?" Doyoung retorted, not wanting to get her hopes up.
Mina snatched his collar and pulled him close, furiously whispering,
"We only have two weeks left before the prince must make his decision, and I will not sit by and let Jungkook steal everything or let Namjoon marry his son off to Park Jimin. Once we have an in at the palace, we can kill everyone in this cursed royal family, making Kim vulnerable and our kingdom to take."
She raced for the door and lightly placed her hand on the knob before turning back to the insolent spy.
"Don't forget that I am your leader. Taehyung will choose my son, even if I have to kill Jungkook to do it."
With those words she swiftly left the tavern and a shocked young spy with it.
