I'm in the school's canteen sitting alone by myself while having lunch.

After yesterday's events, I'd rather have been absent but unfortunately, i couldn't miss classes if i wanted excellent results.

Jack was nowhere to be seen.

The whole school was already aware of everything that happened yesterday. Even though i hated being the main topic of conversations, i felt a little satisfied when i saw how Shanon and her friends literally cried their eyes out in the bathroom. Fortunately they didn't notice me.

Shanon has had a crush on Jack since what seems like forever.

But i felt a little ashamed of myself for feeling happy by seeing others hurt. But i guess that's good sometimes to feel a little selfish.

"You are a real bitch. Let me guess. You blackmailed Jack! Believe me, Jack would never ever date a simple girl like you even if you were the last girl on this earth! "

Umm..it looks like this conversation was leading nowhere good. I can't really blame them for not being shocked as i myself couldn't believe what happened.

"If you wanna have answers to these questions, it's better that you go ask them to Jack yourself because i simply don't have the answers myself!" I tried saying in a confident way. Is it just me, or i feel like since the confession yesterday, I've changed.

I guess having a popular guy to confess to you and defending you, builds up confidence.

I better not have high expectations. It's Jack we are talking about, and rumors have it that his longest relationship was three years ago and only lasted for two months.

"Oh Jack sweetheart..come have lunch with me." Shanon pleaded with puppy eyes.

My eyes locked with Jack's grey eyes. There was something about him which changed. Not that I've known him for long, but he just looks a little more different from what i expected.

He then broke eye contact with me and looked at Shanon.

"Sorry, i guess that I'll just have lunch with my girlfriend today."
He turned towards me and winked at me.

I felt my cheeks burning. They might have turned red by now. I was embarrassed by myself for behaving like this. Why the hell am i blushing!?

Shanon muttered something under her breath and left.

Jack sat in front of me at the table which no one shared with me for the past years.

"Why are you referring to me as your girlfriend? You don't even know me. I bet you won't even know my name!" I said as calm as possible, trying to keep up with an emotionless face.

"I do know your name and some basic. Your name is Shane Kelly, the school's good girl, your are sixteen. You are in the science department class and your hobbies include reading. I don't know much about you, but i do want to get to know the real you."

"You do realize that dating a girl like me would teint your reputation. No one will ever believe that a guy like you is dating a plain girl like me. And anyway, you are going to get bored of me and in two weeks time, you are going to dump me and this might just result into more humiliation and bullying. I also don't want any distraction from my studies."

I stood up and was about to leave after i finally spoke my mind, but then, i felt Jack's firm grip on my shoulders. He turned me to face him and without warning, he pressed his lips against mine.

What was worst was that he just did it the cafeteria in front of the whole school.

What was he trying to do?

I placed my hands on his chest and attempted to push him away, but all my efforts went in vain.

When he finally pulled back from the deep kiss, i looked at my surrounding and realized that the scene was being filmed!

How the hell was i supposed to survive high school with all sorts of gossips and rumors about me.

I'm finally back home after an exhausting day.

After the kiss, Jack announced to everyone that we were officially dating, which of course was a big fat lie. The problem is that i can't understand what he is gaining from this. There are a lot of rich, beautiful and smart girls in the school who would die to be in my place right now. So why me!??

I was so busy thinking about the kiss that i totally forgot to ask him the reason why he wanted to date me that bad.

'Beep...beep'

I looked at my phone screen and realized that i had received a message from Jack.

After the whole scene, he asked me to come meet him after school. Then we would exchange phone numbers.

I have no ideas why i just can't say 'no' to him.

-Dress up in a cute dress. I want my girlfriend to look cute. Im taking u on a date. Theres a party that one of my friend is organizing. I need u to accompany me. See u at 8...

I hate him so much. There's no way I'm attending a stupid party with him. And anyway, i have nothing beautiful to wear. I seldom wear dresses, so i don't really have one for a party. And i bet that it's gonna be one of these parties where Jack, along with his friends get drunk like never before and sleep with any random girl that comes to them.

I decide to ignore him. Maybe if i don't answer him, he's gonna think that I'm busy and can't make it.

I walked towards the bathroom, took a bath and at about 7, i started to do my homework due for next week. I also had to do some chemistry revision for the upcoming test on redox reactions. Not to forget that i have a maths test on calculus.

As soon as i sit on the chair, i hear a knock at the door.

I went downstairs to open the door, but my mum was already about to turn to door knob. So i just started walking back up again.

But then, someone had to show up!

"Shane, your friend is here to take you to a party!"

It took me little to figure out which friend she was talking about. I didn't want to go, so i just dashed upstairs.

I reached my room and closed the door.

Few minutes after, my mum knocked at my door. I guess Jack was already gone, since i clearly ignored him when he came few minutes ago.

I get up and open the door.

To my surprise, Jack is standing in front of me, a smile plastered on his face. I just stood there, my mouth opened wide in shock...
