Chapter 3 - Connor

I laid on my bed and fiddled with my knife, it needed sharpening. That damn car blunted it. I got up and shoved my knife in my drawer, I’ll just sharpen it later, I shouldn’t need it. Hm, what should I do today? Get drunk? Find a chick? I smiled and shoved a fag in the corner of my mouth and lit it, then chewed on it a little.

I jumped up and wandered around my flat, there was never anything to do, I had no TV, no radio, it was all just so boring. Oh, and now I have ran out of booze. Great. I grabbed my keys from the side and decided to go out, just get some booze. Water was just shit. I strolled out the building and got in my car. Crap. Low on petrol, I can’t afford that right now. I got out my car and decided to walk, I’d just go to the crappy pub around the corner from my flat. I strolled over with the last fiver and gripped in my hand. Just one drink. I needed to keep some money.

I entered the bar and ordered the cheapest drink I could get, I didn’t care that is tasted gross, it was still booze. I only had about three pounds left, but to be honest, I didn’t care. I sipped it then placed it down on the table. Well, that didn’t take long to finish, I couldn’t buy another one, like I said, I actually had to save my money.

I left the bar within an hour, I got bored far too quickly, normally, it would be full of chicks, but this time, nope. No one was there, it was dead. I looked to the floor as I walked and I could hear footsteps from right behind me, I turned my head slightly and saw Carl with his guys walking behind me. Crap. I ran straight away, I had to get away from them. I was over a month late for the payments I had to give. Oh, yeah, I owed them money, big money.

I ran fast ‘till they were out of my sight, then I ran into the alleigh way, I think I had lost them. I stood there and got my breathing back, someone that smoked wasn’t really made to run. I leant back on the wall and closed my eyes. “Hello, Connor,” I opened my eyes fast to see Carl stood there, his guys behind him.

“What do you want?” I snarled. He laughed a little then walked around slightly.

“Money. It’s been so long since you’ve paid me,” I glared at him then shoved a fag in my mouth and lit it. Carl took it off me and smoked it.

“I haven’t had the money.”

“Oh, and why is that?” Carl smiled and I looked behind him at his guys. Keb and Jack, not as muscled as Carl, but still the strongest guys he had.

“I can’t get money easily,” I snapped, Carl laughed for a second then narrowed his eyes.

“No. You get money easily. You just spend it on booze,” I looked for places to run. It was useless, those guys would catch me within seconds.

“Well people have needs.”

“Oh, Connor, don’t be so stupid,” Carl laughed. I glared at them then moved back a little. “Pay us, Connor.”

“No, I won’t pay you,” why the hell did I say that? Maybe I was just fed up of paying them when I had payed them last month. They didn’t get off my back though. They called it ‘interest pay’.
