Best Friends

Snape's POV

She was beautiful. Dark red hair and emerald green eyes.Beautiful.

"Severus?" came her voice, ringing through his thoughts. He looked at her and said, "yes?"

"Have you ever wondered what makes us like this? Magic, I mean."

"Never thought about it, but it is something to think about."he replied. They both were lying down on the grass near the river. She enjoyed his company and he liked her too. She was good and kind, and never thought ill of anyone unless they hurt her personally. Inside out. She opened her palm and a daisy floated and dipped there. They were spending almost every free moment together, showing each other their skills and sharing their lives. They were to go to Diagon alley together, as his parents, although detested mudbloods, were quite impressed with her, and had decided to take her along as she was clueless. He was looking forward to the that day.

The day arrived bleak and cold, and they decided to set of early. Mrs. Snape took them to the leaky cauldron, where an uncouth barman gave them a toothless smile. They went out through the back, and emerged into a miniscule backyard. The wall in front of them is aged and crumbling, with a curtain of ivy covering one wide. Mrs. Snape counted the bricks and tapped the one near the middle thrice. A blazing archway appeared and the bricks in it melted away to reveal a bustling street with srange, wonderful sights. Severus and Lily looked at each other with looks of glee etched on their faces. They started walking down the street looking around in awe as Mrs Snape looked fondly at the pair of them. She remembered her first visit here and the excitement she had felt. Severus and Lily ran from one display to the other, trying to drink it all in.

Arms laden down with a load of heavy books (they declined Mrs Snape's magical assistance) and other nescessities, they made their way back through the archway and took the Knight Bus home in the evening.
