Impalpable

Two

Hospitals are a nuisance to Yoongi. He hates all the poking and prodding with all the needles, they never leave him alone. For some reason, Hoseok won't leave him either. It's been days since he brought Yoongi to the hospital and he hasn't left once. You can tell by the fact that he is still wearing the same outfit he wore on the first day. Hoseok sometimes comes and goes from the room to make phone calls, get food, and to talk to the doctors. Yoongi continues to wonder why this stranger has stayed by his side when they don't know each other. He found him dying in the woods and decided to take up all his time to take care of him. That baffled Yoongi, he just couldn't wrap his head around it.

The door slides open and Hoseok enters the room and makes sure to quietly close the door. He lifts his head and smiles at Yoongi. "Hey there Yoongi. Looking better today hm?" He says, looking fondly at the other.

"Hoseok." Yoongi sighs and lifts himself to sit up in his bed better "why are you doing this?"

Hoseok's expression turns to a very confused state. "Doing what?"

"This.." Yoongi gestures his hand towards him. "Taking care of me... don't you have a life to live? I'm sure it's a lot better than taking care of a random suicidal guy you found in the woods."

Hoseoks mood changed as quick as the sound that beeps from the heart monitor. "Hey." His voice lowered " I want to help you... I really don't... know why.... but I want to help you as much as I can, so that is what I'm doing."

Yoongi sits there still as a statue with his eyes casted down to his hands resting in his lap.

Hoseok begins to speak softly and hesitantly ".....The doctor said you dont have a family.."

Yoongi snaps from his stillness and looks Hoseok dead in the eye "Don't go there."

Hoseok sighs and places his hand lightly on the others forearm. "All I'm saying is that since you dont have anyone, I want to be that person for you."

Yoongi didn't say a word. He sat there soaking in his words. He didn't know what to say, so he looked out the window to avoid eye contact.

The silence in the room was cut when the door slammed open with familiar faces entering, two of Yoongi's friends, Jimin and Jungkook. Out of breath, Jimin finally grasps his words "I just heard that you were here. We had to see if it was true." He grabbed Yoongi's hand "why didn't you tell us?"

Yoongi stayed silent, guilt rising from his gut. He didn't intend things to play out this way, hence the reason he avoided them. He didn't want them to worry.

Jimin lifted Yoongi's hand and placed the back of it to his cheek while Jungkook rested his hand on his shoulder. "We don't want to lose you" Jimin says looking from Jungkook to Yoongi.

Jungkook slowly looks up from Yoongi and stares at Hoseok. "..Who is that, Yoongi..?"

Yoongi looks over and begins to speak but Hoseok begins to introduce himself. He stands up and extends his arm out "Jung Hoseok"

The others shook his hand. "I'm Jeon Jungkook, this is my boyfriend, Park Jimin."

They all stay in silence for a short while until Jimin clears his throat. "Well... I have dance practice I have to go to..." he looks at Jungkook "And kookie drove me here so we have to go." Jimin takes Yoongi's hand and smiles "Please message me, let me know how you are sometimes... okay?"

Yoongi just nods and waves goodbye to his friends.

"...Well that was awkward.." laughs Hoseok.

"Yeah.. that's them though. I never know what to say to them so they get awkward." Yoongi fiddles with his wires on his body.

Hoseok looks at Yoongi. He really gets a good look at him now. He is finally getting color back into him. His mint hair is faded, his bags under his eyes are too. Hoseok sees the life in this boy and smiles. He suddenly realizes what will happen next, the doctors will release him and he will leave Hoseok and who knows what would happen after that. Hoseoks smile slowly fades away, knowing that this boy he helped will leave his side.

He doesn't know what to do with himself if he had to leave Yoongi by himself.
Who knows what could happen.
