I walked up to the little cottage and knocked on the yellow door.
I was soon answered with a, "Coming dear!"and a shuffle of fast footsteps.
The door opened to reveal a little old lady with the palest skin I've ever seen, and hair pure white hair that reached past her ankles even though it was seperated into two braids.
"Hello Miss. Kettle. How are you?" I said.
I raised my right hand for a handshake, but instead of resieving a handshake I was suprised with a hug.
She laughed and left my stunned self at the door the called, "Come on deary, we haven't got all day."
I shook my head and continued into the house.
It seemed bigger on the inside than on the out, but it only had two rooms. The rest was open space that she filled with a bunch of plants and some furnature. There was a wood burning stove and a fireplace that contained a hook on a hinge for a couldron that was resting right beside the fireplace.
"So where do you do all your magick?" I asked. I looked around for anything witchy but found nothing.
"Come, come. We may talk tomorrow, but first you must rest. You're probably tired from your trip and I would like you to enjoy your stay here and relax. But don't worry, I'll put you to work soon enough. There are always plenty of chores to do around the house."she winked.
Miss. Kettle led me to a small room with a nice, bright, window and a nightstand right under it. On the nightstand there was a pot of several different plants, there were flowers and vines and chickweed. Right next to the night stand was a small but very fluffy bed. It looked like a marshmallow with covers of colours poured on it.
The room had a small closet and a little show rack. Above was a shelf and a string. I tugged on the string and a little light came on, some how eluminating the entire area.
"It's the magick you were wanting" a voice whispered in my ear.
I jumped and therr was sudden laughter.
"You wanted magick there you go. The closets are the only thing in the house with lighting and it's all done with a little light spell.
I use candles for everything else." she said as she placed a large box of matches in a drawer of the nightstand along with a few candle sticks.
"This is a candle holder." Miss. Kettle explained and held up a very old hand held candle holder. She placed it on top of the night stand and placed a candle in it.
"Breakfast starts at eight so be ready."she stated.
"Thank you." I said setting my luggage on the bed.
"No problem at all dear."
With that she left me.
I closed all the curtains in the room even though we were in the middle of nowhere, and changed into a simple, shprt sleeved, night gown. I then braided my hair into two braids and slipped into bed.
It took a few hours for my body to get comfortable in the new room, but soon I was waking up to the smell of eggs and toast.
