Neglected Marriage

3.He has returned

Mr Stella stared the out the window of his carriage with despair  and anxiousness . He hoped Mrs Stella was alright. Though he does not say it or show it properly he cares about his wife very much.

Mrs Stella and her parents were drinking their afternoon tea in the upper opened space air lounge with big windows and a balcony .
Then a commotion of hard, harsh, precise footsteps could be heard. She's heard them many a time.
She placed her tea cup down and faced the door. Her parents were surprised at her changed demeanour. Slightly cold, unappealing and what they could only hint was the fear inside her. Although she hid it well.

“What is wrong dear?”her mother asked. Her father watched her answer without even looking at them.
“ He has returned .”
They knew not what she meant until the double does opened and the same handsome young man their daughter married entered. Walking tall and proud. His black locks framing his face as if a woman . He was cleanly shaven .He saw that his wife was not alone.
“Good day ,Mr knight, Mrs knight. I apologise for not being able to welcome you properly yesterday ”.he said greeting them.

“Well you are here now. ”.her father stated ,with a smile. He was still a commanding spirit.
“However as compensation, I brought you both gifts，”he said.
Matheo gave them their gifts.
Mr knight received a watch and Mrs knight received a beautiful silver bracelet with gold trimings and sapphire stones embedded in it.
They thanked him.
Then turned his attention to his wife.
“Mrs Stella ” .he greeted.

“Mr Stella ”she nodded.

“How have you been? ”，he asked softly.
“Well as can be. But ecstatic my parents are here. And you also are here. ”she answered.

“ Indeed.”he nodded.
Then said “Can I talk to you. In private Mrs Stella? ”he asked slightly cold.

“Yes Mr Stella. Come this way”.she led him to the balcony and after closing the door .
He said looking down to her

“How long are they staying ?”he questioned .

Her eyes widened considerately.

“Until the spring . Six months. ”she answered looking down.

From the inside Mr knight saw it as an injustice that his daughter looks frightened of her husband.
He wanted to protect her ,but it was no longer his duty.

He saw his son in law turn away from his daughter holding the rains .

“My fathers business ventures are a hotel he invested in here Chicago. He simply is protecting one of his investments ”.she answered.

Then he nodded. Then turned towards her a walked directly in front of her. Put his hand on her necklace and tore it off.

Her parents stood up ,shocked by the scene. However got even more shocked when he put the necklace in her hand and produced out of his pocket an elegant long velvety box. He opened it to take out a beautiful silver chain with a small jade green rock encased in gold coating.

She breathed in harshly at it's beauty. In her moment of stunned silence ,he circled her ,lifting her hair to one side he dressed her jewelry ,the only jewelry he ever dressed her in was the wedding ring only.

A ghost of a smile touched her lips as she stared at it's beauty.

Then walked in front of her and asked ",Have I got it correct ?". Rather anxiously.

Mrs Stella raised a brow and said “Yes I love it. ” She squeaked a little.

Mr Stella has never heard his wife so joyous.
Then he said ",Lets go back inside then ".
They returned to the living room.
