The Secrets at Rose Academy

Prologue

"Miya, seriously, do we have to go?" I whined.

"Yes. Now lets go we don't want to be late, Arries." she grabbed my wrist and dragged me out the door.

Miya drove her precious blue convertible to the town meeting behind the police station. When we arrived the mayor and some other people were setting up the sound system in the pavilion. Miya and I walked to our usual spot in the grass and set out our blanket. Fifteen minutes later the mayor finally started the town meeting.

"Welcome Residents of Winston, thank you all for coming and I am very excited to announce the four lucky students whom get to go to the new high class Rose Academy. lets get started shall we?"

She turned to the two large bowls, labled "boys" and "girls". She picked two slips of paper from each bowl then turned back to the audience that was spread throughout the small feild.

"Congratulations, the following students please meet me in the police station in fifteen minutes so we can go over some quick things." She then read off the four slips of paper. "Michael Phelps, Garrett Jones, Miya Cortez, and Arries Zach." She smiled and started to give a long speech about how proud she is and everything. I sat there staring at her in awe.

Did she seriously just say that both Miya and I are going?

The moment the mayor dissmissed the meeting Miya turned to me and started blabbing my ear off. I just stared at her until she finally ran out of air.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" She asked.

"Miya you should really breathe in between sentences." I let out a small laugh and got up to start folding our blanket. Miya started blabbing again until she was inturrupted by Garrett.

"Hey, you two want to walk with us to the police station?" Garrett asked. Miya started turning pink when he took a step closer to her. Michael stood next to Garrett staying quiet as usual.

"Yea, that'd be cool." Miya said trying to act casual. She's had a crush on Garrett since they started talking. I had told Miya that she owes me ten dollars if he asks her out.

"Sweet. Oh let me carry that for you." Garrett took the blanket and the four of us started walking to the police station. Miya was turning red. Garrett winked at her and then gave Michael a smirk. Michael and I had been watching those two and we both knew they were both blind. I rolled my eyes and we walked into the police station.

We each recieved a handout and there were a few people that just explained everything such as pickup and our schedules. It was a long meeting. It was about eleven when Garrett and Michael had finally walked us to Miya's car.

Miya was writing her number on Garretts hand when Michael spoke up. He usually didn't say anything.

Michael was attractive but very quiet. He had brown hair and chesnut brown eyes. Garrett was the total opposite with blond hair and blue eyes. Garett got most of the girls around here.

"I think we should all meet up at Subway then go to the Police station when we leave tomorrow. You guys up for it?" Michael asked.

I loved food and Subway was even better. "I'm in." I told him.

"Yea that sounds cool." Miya said as she looked back at Garrett whom gave her a wink.

"Ok sounds good. See you guys Tommorow then at 3:00." Michael motioned for Garrett who decided to pick that moment to give Miya a kiss on her forehead and then left with Michael.

Miya had a smile on her face the whole ride home. When she pulled into my driveway she gave me ten bucks and took it and laughed.

"Told you." I teased her

"Yea whatever. You need a ride tomorrow?"

"No thanks, I want to ride my longboard. I want to bring it to Rose Academy anyways." I gave her a smile and she nodded then pulled out of my driveway. 

As I walked inside my mom engulfed me into a hug.

"The mayor called and said that you are going to Rose Academy.  I'm so happy for you. Now promise me you will be safe okay? I want you to call me when you get there and everything. I'm going to miss you so much." She squeezed me so tightly I thought I was going to pass out but I hugged her back anyways. After promising my mom twenty different things she finally sent me to bed. I stopped in my dad's study and talked with him a few minutes before going to bed.

As I finally threw most of my clothes in a suitcase, I flopped on my bed and let myself rest.
