"Alright class, I know that everyone hates reading and writing and so on, but I had a thought. For your next semester project I am considering pairing you off and each pair will have to make a collaborative effort to write and perform your own plays!" The class buzzes with excitement with a few people groaning at the thought of putting in any effort towards a project. I hastily glance towards Aidan to discover him gazing in my direction, causing me to snap my eyes back to the front, my heart pounding.
"I'll start pairing you off tomorrow, so be ready for that," Mr. Johnson states. I hope I get partnered with Aidan, I think subconsciously. No, but I'll be a blubbering idiot in front of him and then he'll never like me. I accept the cold truth and proceed to study the swirling oak wood covering the desk. The class mindlessly chatters around me, unaware of the boy with a war crowding his mind. That is, all but one.
"Hey, you're Dan right?"
