The next thing I knew after I blacked out, I was in the infirmary of the training camp. A total of 3 days had passed after I destroyed the core. The mugglor had simply disintegrated, leaving me and the dead demon lying in pink goop. Apparently the demon had only let out a small explosion in the middle of the battlefield when I was inside. Thinking that the explosion had killed all of them, the demon went in the mugglor to look for me, not knowing that a good number of people, including Aisha, had survived. I was then dragged all the way back to camp where I was patched up.
I sat up on the bed, my head feeling like it had just been flattened. Then out of nowhere, a huge force rammed into me and I fell onto the bed again, the air driven out of my lungs. Before I could even ask anything, Aisha said, " Don't you ever do those types of things ever again! Do you even know how worried I was?" Her eyes were sparkling from the tears forming and could not help but grin.
"You're the one who pushed me into the mugglor in the first place." I said cheekily.
The only response I got was a painful pinch to the arm before dexter burst through the door. Honestly, I thought the door would be flung off its hinges but to my surprise it held steady.
"Ah! Lukas. Glad you finally woke up. But first thing first, status report." He said with a commanding tone.
I gave him as close as a detailed run down of the incident as I could for about 5 minutes before he cut me off, "and the rest I have heard already. Well, it's good you're alive and all but I have other things to do and you need to get back to your side of reality."
With that, he flung open the door again with the same amount of force and walked out. I sat there and tried to recollect my thoughts when Aisha's yawn made me jump. All that talking made me forget that she was even there! She had apparently fallen asleep whilst I was reporting and drooled all over the sheets. Grinning uncontrollably, I woke her up and stepped through the newly created portal back to school.
Recess had only just ended when we stepped through and I hurriedly rushed back to class, my stomach growling in hunger. Trying to not make my hunger seem obvious, I rushed to take my seat and as soon as I sat down, the teacher had walked in bearing news.
"Class. I hope you have been studying as starting next Monday, your examinations will commence." The teacher's voice resonated through the class.
I instantly went cold. Shivers went down my spine at the mere thought of exam. Fighting demons and monsters were one thing, but this was on a whole different scale. All this time, I had not been studying but fighting monsters for Christ's sake! What am I going to tell my parents? Sure, they don't care about me but when it comes to exams, one slip up from me and I get grounded for a week! And not to mention a whole lot of nagging. I looked over at Annabeth, thinking that she too would face this problem. But one look at the determination in her eyes told me I was alone on this. As I sat there rigid and thinking of a plan to still pass, Aisha had picked up a pen and started scribbling. I looked at what she wrote and could not help but agree. You know what they say, when life gives you lemons, you just got to YOLO.
