september ?, 20??; ??:?? ??
third person's p.o.v.
a girl, all bloody from her face and hair, lies on a floor seemingly appearing to be dead, but her breath remains steady — inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale, inha—
she gasps, her eyes shooting wide open.
one by one she flickered her fingers, her body feeling weak, her cheeks stinging, and her face as a whole feels dirty and sticky.
"where...?" minsook croaks out lifting her head up to observe her surroundings, but that's when she realizes that her vision is blurry.
she blinks and shakes her head, her mind feels as if it's foggy, she can't properly think, can't properly remember. she stands up, leaning herself against the nearest wall she could find, she tries to observe her surroundings again, but her vision remained blurry as so her mind remained hazy.
minsook starts taking small steps.
"hana... yoongi... contact... n-need to... contact them..." she whispers under her breath along while trying to clear up her mind.
contact them for what though? minsook asks herself.
as she tried to reach for her pocket for her phone, minsook only then realizes she's wearing her pyjamas, her phone non-existent.
huffing, her hands goes up to rub her eyes however upon doing so, minsook felt as if she just smeared something thick on herself instead, and so she blinks, looks at her hand and reality strikes her.
the cryptic messages, the cries, the screams — her mom.
minsook let out a shriek, rubbing her bloody hands on her clothes as she backs away before conveniently stopping right in front of a glass plane window — her reflection shows a very messed up image, blood on her face and strands of her messy hair, cheeks with scratches along with dried tears.
with adrenaline rushing in her veins, minsook takes off running in a blind direction, she turns to a corner of a very long hallway, goes down to a row of stairs, before ending up in a long hallway again.
where even am i?! minsook screams in her mind, panic taking over her mind, she can't think straight, she can't tell where she is, and upon looking outside to try and see if this place is any familiar to her, all her eyes see is a very void place.
no lights, no road, no sign of life, no nothing.
minsook is then forced to stop on her tracks, her body jolting violently upon the sound of a very loud bell.
one that sounded eerily familiar.
suddenly, her ears start picking up sounds — chattering, cheering, the steps of feet on the ground.
before minsook knows it, she's now in a flood of people in very, very familiar uniform — students with yet again very, very familiar faces.
minsook's breath become rigid, and before she could properly acknowledge what the actual fck is even happening and where she is right now, something — someone just goes through her. minsook is stunned, she felt a little pang on her chest, similar to what seemed like heartburn before stumbling backwards.
the person, who went through her, shivers slightly, his companion asks then if he's okay to where the latter answers that he is.
minsook grabs her chest, panting, she looks around frankly and before she can finally distinguish and acknowledge where she had seen these uniforms, someone yet again, passes through her body.
"hey, hey, what do you guys think will happen to our school after the death of that jeon jeongguk guy?"
her ears perk up, minsook almost got a whiplash with how quick she turn her head around.
jeongguk? yoongi's brother?
the hallway is crowded, everyone's talking, school boys are cheering, girls are giggling and laughing however, minsook hears the same voice again, loud and clear, talking about jeongguk.
"the higher ups would probably cover it up, you know? they wouldn't want their precious school to have a tainted image," another voice joins in.
the first person whom talked before once again speaks up, "yeah i think so, i heard the boy's family isn't that well off so whoever are the people responsible of his death probably just paid their single mother."
"such a shame though, jeongguk is a classmate of mine."
"are you guys friends?"
minsook tries to catch up with the small group of people whose voices sound loud and clear in her ears, as if they're just talking right beside her even though they're already a meter or two away from her.
"i wouldn't say we are, boy's quite a weird kid, you know? but he'd let us see his answers in our physics subject for free while i help him in english, so i'd say i did got benefits from him," the person says before shrugging afterwards.
minsook is falling behind.
her body starts to feel heavy to even make her limbs move, but minsook continue to push herself to step.
"well, i guess i'd see you tomorrow."
"what, you're not walking home with us today?"
"i have to practice today remember? if only we had this instrument back at home then i wouldn't need to stay behind and use the school's piano," the girl, who minsook learned that used to be jeongguk's classmate, pauses, and from where minsook could see her, she fumbles at the door knob before continuing her sentence.
"and besides, i'd like to stop by the music room because i feel lonely yet again."
her friends jokingly scoffs, but lets her know that they'll going to be heading home ahead of her from there, to which the latter laughs and bids them goodbye.
minsook pushes her body to move, move, move, but like in a dream, it feels as if like she's going nowhere, but as soon as she lifts up her head up, minsook sees the flash of long black hair of the girl before almost missing the name tag that is placed on her blouse's chest pocket.
byun jangmi.
and just like that, as soon as this student closes the door behind her, minsook is yet again engulfed by the darkness she soon become familiar with.
