Ever since the beginning she wanted to investigate the murders of people in her hometown. No one knew who had committed the crimes, and she was the one who wanted to figure that out. Police started the investigations at first and there were no leads, which was surprising. What crime scenes ultimately lead to no one being discovered as the suspect? That's what she was there for. All Moe's life she wanted to be an investigator, but that wasn't possible.
The woman's parents had not been the most wealthy people. When she was five, she began to realize the patterns of not buying much food at the supermarket. Kids laughed at her for not wearing the clothes that were popular, and that she didn't carry anything more than a sandwich in her bag every day to school. Teachers inquired about her parent's financial status, and of course, she admitted that they were completely fine. People hated her for her real name, which happened to me Montserrat Sage Kinley. That's when she started going by the name Moe.
At age seven, she became more self-aware. That's when the murders started. One after the other, almost every month, and they were committed nearly the same way every time. Moe's father slept with a gun next to his bed every night, mostly for the safety of her mother and her herself. Apparently her father was one of the officers who worked on the cases; a man who was then working under the Federal government to solve the crimes of the murderer. He only happened to become one after the mayor had proposed the job to him. After all, it ended up earning Moe and her family more money than they ever had.
The older she got, the more involved she became. She always listened to the radio every morning for the news, and she was only fourteen. Moe's dream was to become an investigator ever since the murders had started. The thought of solving a problem like that was so fascinating to her, no matter what it involved. How awesome would it be to search for a killer? The rush of chasing someone down, getting leads that would lead to the solution, and saving lives - that's what she wanted to do.
The murders first started in 1977, beginning with a supposed man stabbing and killing a woman named Janet Kirkland. But the quirky thing was that the weapon he used appeared to not be a knife. No. It was an axe, and it was clear by the size of the marks across her back.
The next murder was of a woman who went by the name of Carol, though her real name was Caroline-Lee Jameson. Once again, an axe had been used as the murder weapon. They found twelve wounds on her back as she lay face down on the dirt. Her night gown was a perfect white, but stained with blood from the horrific acts that she had endured.
There were no witnesses to either murders, despite being right in the center of an inhabited part of the town. Things got worse after then. There were more murders, and when she was seventeen, they had stopped briefly before beginning again. How could someone ever be so active in killing? It was all natural evil - she wondered if they all had something in common. It was too early to go searching by herself, but she would do it eventually.
Dana Greene, Renee Jackson, Roger Heck, Quentin Alster, Roy Knox, Heather Abbey, and the list could go on and on. Many, many months and each one that passed, there were more murders. There was no excuse. Most of all, there was one name that stood out to her. Earnest Kinley. Her father.
How he was connected, Moe was completely unsure. For all she knew, it was just because he had been working for the police ever since the Feds had been involved. But now Moe was twenty-two and her father had died when she was eighteen. It had only been four years, but it felt like it had only been yesterday when her mother told her the news. How was she supposed to react to that?
A man, who she knew as her loving father, had been killed one day coming home from work.
"A man named Earnest Kinley was found dead in his vehicle on Wednesday evening on his way home to his daughter and wife. He was discovered with five wounds on his back, all suspected to be an act of the Axeman, who has been committing these acts ever since 1977. Will his true identity ever be discovered? Tune back in around five o'clock this evening to find out more about the investigation. Channel 91.2, Daniel Christian."
