Avery Harlow has many regrets, she wishes that she had taken more advantage of a life free from machines that record her every movement and sympathetic glances. She regrets focusing on the small details of life and being so caught up in the high school bubble that she forgot how to really live. But the event which overshadows all her other regrets occurred two summers ago when she let her former inseparable best friend Brooklyn Carson leave for Orlando without telling him how she truly felt.

Brooklyn Carson thought he had finally moved on and left everything Avery related in his life behind when he boarded a plane to Orlando ready to start a new life. But his past comes back to haunt him when he sees a Facebook post telling him that Avery has leukemia, he finds himself abandoning everything he'd built in his new city to be close to her, no matter the personal cost.

But the history between the the two of them won't disappear as easy as they both wish it could and it haunts their friendship causing them to realise that there are two sides to every story, and they both lack the full picture that is needed to work out exactly what went wrong, and whether they've run out of time to fix their past mistakes...

When I published this book first in July 2018 I had no real life experience of leukemia, I had of course researched the illness to the best of my ability but I lacked true understanding of just how debilitating the disease can be. Just four months later my younger brother was diagnosed with with a rare former of leukemia and passed away just 3 days after this diagnosis. For a long time I haven't wanted to read over this book let alone think about republishing it because of the subject matter but I've come to the conclusion that writing and finishing this book could be helpful to me in the sense that I get to share my story through the eyes of fictional characters and have a point of view for this story that others may not. I've also edited the original storyline of this book to cover a topic which I feel maybe doesn't get enough exposure and that's sibling grief and the effect losing losing a sibling can have.
