Chapter 3: Devious Michael Snaps

(CALUM'S P.O.V)

"What the hell is going on here?" Ashton asks.

We untangle our arms and I try my best to walk over to Ashton which was successful, but Ashton still was confused.

He asks again,"Were you guys... you know."

I wasn't sure what he just said so, I asked,"You know what?"

"Kissing?"

I stood there in shock, but also my cheeks were flushed. I don't know where he got that from. I admit that I liked Pearle ever since we had that fake relationship to scare off this guy when she was 14, but I would never do such thing to her. As I still stood there with my mouth wide open I answer,"We would never do that! We're just best friends. Right Pearle?"

Ashton and I both turn to Pearle and she nods as if this is a nodding contest and who ever nods the fastest wins. Ashton raises his eyebrow in curiosity, but then drops them all of a sudden and says,"Pearle, I need to speak to you."

That's when I left the room to go find the others.

(PEARLE'S P.O.V)

When Ashton said,"Pearle, I need to speak to you." I was curious. Don't hate, but I really like Ashton. He's always been by me with smiles and hugs.

I ask with curiosity,"What's up?"

"Are you in a relationship with Luke, Michael, or even Calum?"he asks. I freeze at his question, but hesitate to answer. The only time I had one was a fake relationship with Calum when I was trying to scare off this guy who had been crushing on me. All the girls were jealous of me so, I decided to scare him off and it actually worked.

"Wait, why are we discussing this?" I ask, trying to avoid the question.

"I'm just curious. If you don't, then who do you like?"

"It was only a fake relationship," I blurt out.

He raises his eyebrows and asks,"Calum?"

I start to stutter, but he starts to nod,"I'll take that as a yes."

Ashton heads towards the door, but I don't want him to leave. Not without a smile. So, I blurt out again with my big mouth,"But I like someone else!"

He turns around and asks,"Who?"

He begins to walk forward and I continue to speak,"I like y-"

Before I could finish my sentence, I've been interrupted by a fall and a massive load on me. I could feel the pain on my back and bottom. I open my eyes and see Ashton's hair on my chest. I try to move yet I can't since I'm on the floor with my wrists glued to the floor by Ashton's hands. He stretches his arms, adding weight to my wrists. I wince, but only realize Ashton's charming eyes staring back at me. They were only a few centimetres away and yet he didn't move. I started to look at his lips and then, back to his eyes. He bends down slightly. Is he going to kiss me? This reminded me of the situation I had with Calum except I didn't like as more of a friend. My thoughts were interrupted by the devious Michael standing at my doorway.

"You slut. Kiss my best bud to wash all your pain away. Maybe all those girls that bully you are right," Michael smirks.

I could feel the weight that was once on me gone and a voice that yelled,"You are fucking drunk. Go get a life when you're sober. I just tripped and I fell on her, that's all."

I get up slowly seeing Ashton's silhouette disappear for my room. I look up and see Michael with his devious smirk. I sob,"Why?"

"Why what, slut?" he asks.

"Why do you hate me all of a sudden? What have I done? I'll do anything to make you happy. Please I thought you are my best friend!"

"Why do I hate you? You always smile! Do you know that there are people like Luke, Ashton, Calum, and I are hurting? Have you seen the way you push things aside as if they were no big deal? You said you care and need us! How about now!You're a liar, Pearle! Once a liar, always a liar!"

"Is it wrong to smile?! I have to deal with everyone's shit! It hurts to know that asses like you always hate me for something I didn't do! I do care and need you guys. I was never a liar!"

"Then, why the fuck are we fading!?" he asks. I stand there in shock and hesitation. Devious Michael snaps.
