"Why do I recognize this car?" Arya tapped her finger against her chin as she paced back and forth in the shop. Sarah chose to ignore her and kept working, wiping away some dirt from her cheek. "Help me out here, I'm positive I've seen it before. Many times."
"I'm not telling you. Call it customer confidentiality." Sarah groaned and stretched her fingers.
"Honey, I'm going to the store to buy some new tools. Be careful!" Sarah's dad, Raphael, called before he left the shop. She simply gave him a thumbs up as response and then turned to look at her friend.
"Seriously! Whose car is it?" Arya whined and poked Sarah's arm several times to get her answer. However, since they had been friends for years, Sarah had grown a good patience level toward Arya so it didn't bother her at first.
"Not telling." Sarah repeated as she closed the hood of the car. She then disappeared underneath the car to make one last check-up. Arya crossed her arms and pouted like a child until she realized that Sarah couldn't see her.
"Hello? I was told my car is fixed and no one was at the reception!" A male voice joined the room, causing Arya to widen her eyes and turn around hastily. Sarah facepalmed, accidentally smudging her face with more grease and dirt.
"I knew it!" Arya exclaimed and pointed at Gabriel who pulled his hands up in defence and stared at her. She pursed her lips and lowered her angry stance which calmed him too.
"Arya? What are you doing here?" He asked but then shook his head and approached his car and the mechanic under it. "Hey. Is it finished?"
"Yup. All done." Sarah rolled out of it and stood up. She flipped her hair that was in ponytail from her shoulder to her back and enjoyed his shocked expression.
"You work here too?" He frowned and glanced around the room.
"Yeah. I fixed your spark plugs and the squeaking belts. It should run just perfectly now." Sarah informed him and wiped her hands on a towel nearby on the table. He still stared at her in disbelief and tried to hide a smirk. "Stop drooling, Torres."
"Is it bad that this is turning me on?" He commented, completely ignoring the fact that Arya was standing right in front of him.
"Yes, because it makes you such a guy." Arya raised her eyebrows and crossed her arms together. Sarah nodded in agreement and put her arm against Arya's shoulder. "What is it with boys and female mechanics anyway? It's not like she's working in shorts and a crop top. Sarah basically looks like a dude when she's working. Usually she wears a bun as well which only makes it worse."
"Okay, I think he gets it." Sarah stopped her friend from blabbering on. Gabriel had reacted when Arya said Sarah's name but brushed it off and slid his hands down his pockets.
"It's not the outfit. You know those scenes in the Transformers movies Megan Fox's character is discussing and fixing cars? It's definitely not the outfits that got to me, it was the way she was so good at cars and oozed confidence. You can't tell me that it wasn't attractive." He explained and sat down on a stool that was unused.
"For me it was definitely the clothes." Sarah tilted her head to the side and smiled as she pictured the scenes in her head.
"Stop being such a guy." Arya shook her head and grimaced.
"I'm not! And besides, it's okay for girls and that's a fact." Sarah shrugged and looked at Gabriel.
"How come?" He asked curiously and straightened his back.
"Because when girls compliment other girls' bodies or think they're attractive, it's not for some hidden, horny agenda. When guys do it, it's because they wanna bang her. When girls do it, it's because we genuinely think they're hot and that's it."
