"INDIA HASN'T SAID A WORD OR SENT A TEXT TO ME IN THREE DAYS."
peter grabbed a piece of pizza in the lunch line. "maybe something really bad happened to her because of the avengers, ever think that dude?"
"stupid! why didn't i connect the dots?" peter felt so stupid at that moment.
"it's my fault she knows. if i hadn't decided to save my neighbor's cat while he was falling off the balcony, india wouldn't have found out i'm the other guy."
"yeah and your neighbor's cat would be dead." nolan reminded and quickly peter rethought what he said.
"i think i'm going to have to be bold." peter and nolan set their lunch trays down to eat.
peter picked up his pizza to eat and as he did so he saw india sitting with chesney at their lunch table.
"i think i see peter staring at you, indy." chesney snapped india from her novel she always read at lunchtime.
"i don't care." india flipped to the next page to continued her read.
"what did he do to you to make you so mad at him?" chesney was confused. "it's not my place to say, we'll put it that way."
"whatever you say." chesney took a bite of her lunch as the table her and india at shook.
"i've seen in a lot movies that the weird girls like you two ladies that read and stay away from high school fun usually have banging bodies and are really good in bed."
"y'all already have one of those down." another member of the football team called out after his friend.
chesney and india stared down the stupid star school quarterback kyle and his pack of idiots.
"and i also have heard that the dumb jocks in high school are usually the ones with tiny penises and bad breath." chesney smiled and added "i'm sure all of you already have one of those down."
chesney and india grabbed their things to get up and walk away from the group of guys.
"i think it's against the law for seniors to be taking to sophomores the way you are, kyle." chesney showed kyle the finger quickly.
"hey we're not done talking to you." kyle shouted and soon enough peter was by the young girls side.
"they seem to be done talking to you. just l-leave them alone man, they don't want any trouble with you guys."
india was astonished at peter parker's willingness.
"aren't you late for your nerd club, parker?" kyle asked and his group of corny jocks erupted in laughter.
before their laughter could secede, kyle threw a punch at peter's face.
luckily, peter's reflexes were fast and he completely dodged the punch. instantly a fight erupted and peter managed to dodge all seven of kyle's punches. peter then landed a giant kick to kyle's stomach and kyle flew back.
"in movies, this is the part where we run." chesney said and the three of them, including nolan had made a break for the cafeteria doors.
the four of them had made their way to a nearby community park once they stopped running.
"holy shit!" nolan shouted as they all sat down to catch their breath.
"why the hell did india and i just run with you peter? we weren't even going to get beat up." chesney questioned and the four of them burst into laughter.
"we should get back." india stood up, grabbing her school bag.
"good idea." peter said, but india stopped him.
"nolan and chesney we'll catch up with you two." india spoke and the two teenagers had no objection.
"have fun you two." chesney winked as she and nolan started the walk back to their high school.
"still hate me?" peter questioned india and she sat back down next to him.
"i don't hate you, i never have hated you. there's just things you don't understand. plus, i don't want to do this project alone." india huffed.
"what don't i understand?" peter questioned.
"just certain things, look i'm sorry i acted the way i did when i found out you were spider-man. it was nothing towards you, you're the sweetest guy i've talked to in our high school."
"really? i mean i-it's okay. it's just nobody knows except nolan, and well tony stark."
"trust me, i won't say anything to anybody. your secret is with me and me only."
"thank you india." peter smiled.
"we seriously need to get back to school, we're going to be late for history. mrs. holland already doesn't like you that much." india said and peter thanked her for the reminder.
upon their return to school, india stopped to use the girls washroom quickly.
"see ya in class peter parker."
peter waved and broke into a sprint to class.
"not so fast, mr.parker. you know running in the halls is lunch detention." one of the hall monitors stopped peter.
"you've gotta be kiddin' me." peter rolled his eyes.
