I was on my way to school when I got a call from my mother.

"Hey mom, how are you? I was just on my way to school." I asked her in a cheerful tone. "Song, I need you to come home right now. I need to talk with you about something and don't worry about school the teachers know that you're not going to be there today." She said in urgency.

"OK I'll be right there just wait a bit." I said with concern in my voice. Oh yeah I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Song Tuan and in 18 years old and I'm 5'5". I live in Los Angeles, California with my mom and dad while my big brother live in Seoul, South Korea. I have lived here since I was born and my brother moved to Korea when he was in his late teens so I haven't seen him in about 5 years. His name is Mark, he is in a kpop group called Got7, he trained to 2 years then debuted in the middle of 2014. I just arrived home and went straight to the living room where I saw my mom and dad sitting on the couch.

"Mom, dad what did you want to talk about?" I asked.

"Take a seat Song" My father said.

"We wanted to tell you that you will be moving to go live in Korea with your brother in a week so you should say your goodbyes and pack your stuff up within that time period." My mother said in a very calm tone that scared me to death. How can she be so calm when she is sending her only daughter to another country especially one all the way across the world!

"No I don't want to go, I don't want to leave my friends and the only place I know!" I screamed out of anger and confusion.

"I'm sorry sweety but it will be better for you to be with your brother at this point. I know you don't want to leave but you'll see that it's for the best." My father told me with a lump in his throat at the edge of tears. I stomped my foot and headed upstairs to my room. When I got to my room i decided to call my best friend Doyoung, we have been friends since we were both little. She has always known that my parents don't really support me like they did with my brother. my brother has always been their favorite. They let him follow his dreams and when I told them that I had the same dream as my brother they said that I would never make it because I didn't have any talent and that's when I decided to go take dance lessons in the underground scene in LA.

"Hey Doyoung I need to tell you something really important." I said almost in tears.

"What is it Song?" She asked with concern in her voice.

"I'm moving to Korea in a week." I said as tears filled my eyes.

"Oh I'm going to miss you but doesn't your brother live there?" She asked out of curiosity.

"Yeah he does but I don't want to leave LA, I don't want to leave you and all my other friends." I said in between sobs.

"Don't worry Song we can facetime everyday and think of this opportunity for your education and you get to see your brother for the first time in years." She said which made me rethink going to Korea a little bit.

"OK I'll tell my parents i'll go to Korea but I'm going to miss you so much." I said as my tears started to stop.

1 week later

I'm going to be boarding the plane in 15 minutes and Doyoung isn't here yet. She told me she would see me off. It's been about 10 minutes and she's still not here. She finally arrived right as I was boarding the plane.

"Song wait!!!" I heard her call from the exit.

"Doyoung you're finally here, it took you long enough." I yelled as I ran towards her. We ran to each other and ended in a big hug.

"I'm going to miss you we'll call everyday." I said on my way to bursting out into tears.

"OK we will and can we video call so I can meet your brother." She asked in a very calm tone so i could be calm and collected.

"OK I'm going to go now." I said with a few tears in my eyes. After I said that I boarded the plane and was leaving my life in LA for my new life in Korea.
