Ally's POV
"He still hasn't talked to us all that much. Honestly, I just hope you can be the first one to really get through to him," my mom told me through the phone
"Why do you guys think that I'll just magically be able to break him out of his shell?" I asked as I walked over to my bed and sat down.
"I don't know, Ally. You're only a few years older than him. He might feel more comfortable with you," she said, letting out a heavy sigh.
"Mom, I think he just needs time. His dad was just killed and he was moved halfway across the country to live with family he never knew existed," I said, running a hand through my hair as I walked out of my room and down to the kitchen.
"I know, Ally. I just don't want him too lost in his own head. I want him to have someone there for him that he knows he can open up to."
"I get that, but at the same time he needs his space. Give him a little more time. I'll be home in two days and I can talk to him then. For now, let him do his own thing," I said as I grabbed a bottle of water out of the fridge.
"Okay," my mom sighed out. "Love you."
"I love you too. I'll talk to you later," I told her before hanging up. I clicked off my phone and stuffed it in my pocket, turning to see the girls all sitting at the table.
"Was that about Y/n?" Normani asked me as I walked over and sat down with them.
"Yea. My mom is really worried about him. I think he just needs a little more time," I said, taking a sip of my water as they all nodded in agreement.
"I want to see what he looks like," Dinah said, leaning back in her chair with a smirk.
"I don't even know what he looks like so good luck with that," I told her, making her smirk fade.
"Well, if he has those Hernandez genes then he has to be hot," Dinah said, making everyone laugh.
"You gotta keep us updated on everything," Lauren said, nudging me slightly.
"I'll try. I'm just hoping he talks to me, because apparently my mom and dad can barely hold a conversation with him."
"I might come visit. He'll definitely talk to me," Normani joked with a smile.
"What makes you think he'll talk to you?" I asked, raising my eyebrows at the dark skinned girl.
"Because I'm hot," she stated bluntly, giving me a 'duh' face.
"Okaayyy, and on that note," I said with a laugh as I stood up. The other girls all laughed as I walked out of the kitchen and went back upstairs to my room to finish packing my things.
I packed pretty much everything I needed except for the basic things like my toothbrush and other things I would need until tomorrow afternoon.
I laid back down on my bed, deciding to text Brandon for an update from him.

You messaged me first🤷🏽♂️I rolled my eyes at his last message before locking my phone. I hate how they're putting all the pressure on me to get through to him.
What if he ends up not even liking me?
What's their plan then?
I shut my eyes as I laid my head back on my pillow. I might as well take advantage of the off time we have right now and get some sleep.
I just hope I can get through to him.
