Prologue

Alison grabs the carton of beers and walks out of the liquor store. Big Drake's is the only liquor store in town that stays open illegally even after midnight. Maybe because Big Drake is really Big and no one dares to bother him.

Maybe Michael was right. I shouldn't have come alone, Alison finds her thoughts echoing subconsciously as she makes her way through the darkness engulfing the town to where her car was parked.

"Maybe i should come with you" Michael had said

"No i will be fine" she had denied.

Now she dully regretted her decision. She wanted to throw her mood at Michael for the stupid fight they had couple of days ago and also for the lame birthday present he got her today. A photo book with a collection of her childhood photographs which she found really embarrassing. She didn't want to look at the pictures of her when she was skinny legged, braces smiles, tiny blonde. Maybe Michael thought it was sweet but for Alison it was not.

"Whoa! thanks a lot!" she had said sarcastically " so you actually made a collection of pictures of my ugly past!"

"oh! C'mon Alison, i think its really sweet that Michael saved all these pictures. Its kind of cute" Lisa had said.

"cute!" Alison finds herself smirking at nothingness.

Maybe its cute. If a guy like Michael keeps a collection of your baby photos then its definitely cute. But Alison has decided to stay mad at him for at least a week from now, maybe then he will change his mind.

Alison smiles at her plan as she walks towards get car. She should have kept the carton in the backseat but for some reason she put it beside her in the front seat.

The Crystal ship by Doors plays on the radio as she drives through the dead town. she puts the window down letting cool wind blow in. Something doesn't feel right.

But then again, must be my wild imagination, she reassures herself

For a split second Alison's eyes falls on the rear view mirror to find two strange darker ones starring right back at her. Her reflexes compels her to look back at the road quickly. All the muscles in her body tightens as a chill creeps up her spine. She dares herself to look in the mirror again, the eyes are gone. But now she knows she is not alone in the car.

Should she hit the brakes and jump out of the car? Will she be fast enough to outrun the intruder?

Alison hits the brakes and before she could let out another breathe a big gloved hand grabs her throat from behind almost choking her.

She screams.

"the time you ran was so insane. we meet again" Alison feels the hot breathe touch her ear as the intruder speaks in hoarse voice singing along the car radio.

"Let go!" Alison struggles and nearly succeeds in her fragile attempts. she manages to kick open the door and run out. But the intruder is faster. Alison takes only two steps away when the intruder grabs her and pins her down to the ground on her belly.

"Let go!" Alison screams.

"Hush now!" the man says.

Alison tries to break free but the man is heavy. Her struggles to get away renders her tired.

"please don't do this" Alison pleads

Who is this guy? What is happening to her? She tries to look at the man's face but all she could see from the corner of her eyes was a hypodermic the man was holding.

"no no" Alison tries to fight, as tears weld up in her eyes

"don't do this" Alison cries and the as the man puts the needle into her arm.
