Chapter One

Alice’s POV

“Travis! How could Kevin possibly screw that mission up! It was the easiest one I could give him!” I screamed into the phone and I could see in my head Travis cringing away at my tone of voice. The thought of a full grown man being frightened by a five foot three woman was beyond me but that was probably because I was the only one that could threaten his position in the agency. I was pacing around the lounge in the back of the mansion at the thought of Kevin messing up his mission to go get the groceries for one of the safe houses that the agency owns.

“I’m sorry ma’am. I can-.“ I shushed him at the sound of footsteps coming down the hallway.

“George I’m sorry about your cat and all but I have to go.” I hung up the phone as Alexandra or Alex as she likes to be called walked in with Rosemary or Rose as she likes to be called laughing. They quickly quieted their laughing and turned to me. “Hey guys I’m just wrapping up here I’ll be in my room if you need me.” I quickly picked up all the files scattered around the room as Rose asked me a question.

“What are all those files for and what was your job again?” Rose emphasized the “what” and had a suspicious look on her face as I rushed out the door.

“I might go for a ride on my motorcycle later tonight for some fresh air so if you need my then just call.” I ran out of the room and ran to the elevator to go to my bedroom on the fourth floor of the eleven floor mansion. I know ELEVEN floors right talk about loaded! Since I moved in all the things around me have screamed money. The elevator dinged and I got in as I organized the papers in my arms. The elevator dinged again and ran to my room to further look over the papers. I locked the door behind me as I threw the papers on the bed and started pacing the room. What am I going to do with Kevin? The boy couldn't do anything right or should I say man because he is about twenty seven. I shoved that thought away. I deserved my position in this agency. I worked hard to get where I am. Being the top dog in the agency can be stressful at times but hey it's the job I wanted. I ran to my closet to change into an outfit that I would call appropriate for a motorcycle ride and heels to look professional if I had an emergency call to work. I grabbed up all the files, threw them into my light green shoulder bag and ran to the elevator. Waiting for what seemed like forever the elevator finally dinged and I hopped in, thinking of what I was going to say when ever I pass Alex and Rose. The elevator dings again and I run down the hall screaming. "I'll be back later, I have to go get bananas." I slam the door behind me before they can ask any questions and run over to the garage to get my brand new Harley Davidson that I just purchased a few days ago. This baby was my pride and joy, besides my job that is, it's not some big old motorcycle. No! But that's besides the point. There have been a string of robberies that the local police think are connected in some ways but have no suspects due to lack of evidence. I quickly turn the key and away I go up to my favorite place to think. A cliff not to far from the mansion. I push the speed limit a little just for the rush and end up having to take a to sharp left turn on to the road leading to the cliff. I steady the motorcycle and slam on the brakes skidding a little until finally stopping. I kick the stand down and swung one of my legs over and leaned against it pulling out the files on the petty robberies, which I knew that my agency shouldn't be handling in the first place. I opened the first file on a robbery of a pawn shop on the outskirts of New York. It went on to say that there was no evidence and no possible suspects whatsoever. I was just getting into the part about what was stollen when there was an ear piercing sound that sadly was my phone. The instant the phone rang I knew who it was. "What do you want, Kevin?" I said in a bored tone.
