Jessica's POV
I slept on the sofa last night, Bear on the floor. They didn't have time to arrange a bed for me however, grandpa is putting in a new bed for me, in Orla's room.
I'm not starting school until next week which is fine by me, but today Grandpa is taking me to the school that Erin and Orla go to, to show me around.

In front of me stood a short, stout nun, named Sister Michael.
"Welcome to Our Lady Immaculate College." She forced a smile onto her face. "Before we go into the tour, I need you to fill out a few forms." She handed my grandpa and I some paper.
-
After filling it out, she took us on the 'grand tour'.
We went past a class that Erin and Orla were in.
"Good morning." Sister Michael said.
"Ah, good morning sister!" The teacher smiled.
"This is Jessica. I believe she knows two of your pupils. Erin and Orla." My cousins smiled at me. They sat at a group table with three others. Everyone else was in fours, but there was a boy at my cousins' table. The only boy in the entire school. What?
"She'll be joining us as of next week. This is Mrs O'Reilly, she teaches English."
We moved on.
The school looks so much nicer than my old one, but I've never been to a religious school so this will be interesting. After the tour, Sister Michael took us back to her office.
"Jessica, I have a list of extra curricular activities, which I encourage everyone in the school to join. Circle the ones that interest you." I was handed paper and a pen.
The first thing that struck me was the school newspaper. Then the netball team, then a creative writing club.
I handed it back to her.
"Thank you. So we will be seeing you again on Monday." She half smiled.
Grandpa and I thanked her and left.

The two of us walked down into the centre of the city. We sat in a small cafe, talking about what had happened in my life.
"Dad always said, 'we don't need a lot, as long as we have each other.', which was true. We didn't need a lot. I mean, we weren't poor but we had money to support us and go on the occasional holiday. It was fun. My dad was amazing!" I beamed.
"He was. He was a brilliant son. I'm just so pissed that I let my feelings get in between us."
"He talked about you, you know."
"He did?" Grandpa's voice picked up.
"Mhm." I smiled. "He always said how much he missed you. And that one day he would finally find the courage to come back to you. Jennifer and I really wanted to meet you."
"I wanted to meet Jennifer. I'm so stupid."
"You're not! I get it. I've seen the news. I know how you feel."
"You're a gem. What else did you get up to?"
"Well, before we got Bear, we had another dog called Rex. He was a pit bull, but he was so sweet. He had really bright blue eyes and loved cuddles."
"What was Jennifer like?"
"The best! She was my best friend. I love, well loved, her so much."

Erin's POV
"What is that?" James asked as I placed my tray down onto one of the canteen tables.
"I don't know. But I think it's moving." I screwed my face up before sitting down.
"So, who was that new girl?" Michelle asked.
"Our cousin." I replied.
I decided to not eat whatever it was they put on my plate. I ate the dessert instead; cake and custard.
"I didn't know you had another cousin." Clare commented.
"Neither did we. Well, not until last night."
"How come?" James asked.
"There was a whole thing. And then her parents and sister were killed."
"Killed? How?" Michelle asked.
"Someone broke in and murdered them." I replied.
"What a shame..." James muttered.
"She's starting school with us on Monday!" Orla beamed. "I'm really excited to have a new cousin."
"She seems nice, but I'm not sure yet."
"Hey guys!" A perky voice sounded from behind me. I knew it was Jenny, so I stayed facing my food. "So I was planning on having a party tomorrow night, at mine! I would love it if you could all come, as long as we don't have a repeat of last time." I rolled my eyes.
"What are you looking at me for?" Michelle questioned. "Erin was the one who called Katya a prostitute!"
"Thanks Michelle." I glared at her.
"Yeah we will be there." Michelle shrugged me off.
"Can we bring someone?" Orla asked.
"That depends. Who?"
"Our cousin, Jessica. She's moving in with me!"
"I suppose so."

Jessica's POV
I'm not sure how to talk about my family. Like, when I say 'I love them', I don't know if I should say 'loved', since they're no longer here. But at the same time, I could never stop loving them. After lunch granda took me to a jewellery shop where he bought me a silver heart necklace. I told him not to, but I still think he feels guilty for what happened, even though I've reassured him many times that what happened, happened, and we have to move on. But part of me feels really guilty for wanting to move on. I don't know if I ever will be fully able to move on.
Once we had been to the shop, granda picked up the bed he had placed an order in for.
We took it back to Aunt Sarah's house where we assembled it. It took a while but we got there, I'm just not supposed to tell Gerry that...When everyone had arrived home from their days, Mary sent Orla, Erin and myself out to collect fish and chips, as it was Friday.
Dinner was quite quiet and after, Orla and myself went round to 'our' home.
The two of us sat in the bedroom, snuggled under her duvet, watching a VHS of '101 Dalmatians'.It was a really nice end to a really nice day.
