chapter 4: Practice Fights

jeffs pov

ben held his hand torwards me, waiting for me to grasp it. I took his offer and grabbed his hand. he helped me up and we went out back to the battle arena.

I finally will get my rematch.

I smiled as we got into battle position. " dont go easy on me, I want a fair round," I said, making sure ben was gonna give it his all. " oh trust me, I wasnt planning on it."

we both transformed into our monster forms and counted down from ten. " ten........ nine...... eight....... seven....... six......... five........ four......... three........... two........ one........ FIGHT!!" we screamed together.

I lunged at him. I knew he was going sidestep to right, just like last time. he did exactly as I wanted and sidestepped to the right. I turned left instantly, slashing my knife. I stopped right where I was to see he was keeping my knife at bay with his sword.

he somehow pushed me away and slashed my neck. I smiled as he jump backward when I tried to counterattack. " youre a fast learner." ben mumbled. I rolled my eyes and slowly raised in the air.

my body felt like it was getting consumed by darkness. " shhhhh, just let me give you my power once again. once you can controll it, it shall be yours...." the demon spoke. I allowed him in, I accepted him. I accept the person who raised me after I killed my family.

almost instantly I felt this.. power run through my blood, making my pulse beat faster. my vision turned red as ben looked at me. fear was in his eyes. as if he knew this wasnt the same way he faced me last time.

" whats wrong ben? scared?" I said, a demons voice corrupted my own. he shook his head. then his eyes flashed red instantly. " your gonna wish you never have challeneged me!!" ben screamed.

the wind sped up, his hair and loose clothes moving with it. he squeezed the handle of his sword. he raised the sword into the air and stabbed downward into the ground. the ground was crackling from the force of the sword, glowing red between the cracks.

water started to appear. the ground that once was there is gone. I was five feet above the ground and now I cant see the ground. how far does the water go down? the water started going crazy, as if a storm was here. ben flew out of the water, grabbing my leg and dragged me down with him.

we hit the water. ben grabbed my neck, forcing my power to vanish. he smiled. " my power is beyond yours. remember that," ben said. he smiled as he pulled me under the water, making me unable to breathe.

the water was freezing every part of my body. the scenery changed to that of a lake, one with no fish. a boat was a bit away, a man yelling a name.

bens name.

" ben!!! where are you?!" the man screamed. the man looked around furiously, looking for any sign of ben. " dont mind him, hes nothing to us. just focus on me..." ben said, wanting me to look at him. I stared at him.

he smiled. " you have met with a terrible fate, havent you?" ben said. he put both of his hands on my neck, as if he was gonna strangle me. I pushed him away from me. " you shouldnt have done that. " ben spatted out.

the water disappeared. the ground we stood on before the water appeared was yet again under our feet. ben lunged at me. he disappeared right before my eyes. I couldnt hear his footsteps. nothing. a pain in my back suddenly appeared.

I turned around and slashed. ben yelped. I smiled. ben backed away. ben had a blue and green oder fled him. he smiled like a crazy man. he raised his fist in to the air and smashed it onto the ground. the ground rippled a lot more than the first.

if I take another, if I take another step, it will all fall apart, there will be nothing of me left. I looked at ben. " ok... you win.." I said. ben.. is very powerful.

ben returned to normal. he smiled and said, " really?" I nodded. thr ground was back to normal when he changed back. " come on, im hungry. lets get a bite to eat." I said, smiling.

ben nodded, running up to me and grabbing onto my hand. I yanked it back. ben looked away, as if he didnt realize he grabbed my hand. " sorry...." ben said. his face turned red.

" hey ben, look at me..." I said and he did. I layed my hand on his forehead. his face turned more red. " hmmmm.." I said. I walked back to the house. ben yelled " wait for me!"
