Do you wanna go get some ice cream with me and my friend later?
No no, that sounds so awkward.
Me and my friend are getting ice cream after school, wanna come with?
Mm... not amazing, but definitely better.
Yukhei made it to class, the room being silent save for a few people talking to their friends. Jungwoo sat alone, staring down at the notebook in front of him. That's probably his favorite view of Jungwoo. Looking downwards, he could really see how long and beautiful his eyelashes were, and the his whole expression was jarring in itself.
Yukhei gulped and walked over to him, sitting in the empty seat next to him. "Uh, Doyoung's not here today?" He asked, half of it coming out more quiet than he'd like. Usually he was just fine when it came to talking to him, but asking him out on pretty much a date? He could barely do so!
Jungwoo seemed to wake up, because he bolted up and looked over at him with wide eyes, mouth open to say something. Instead he shut his mouth, a small smile on his face and he visibly relaxed. "Oh, yeah. Until Friday, too. He got really sick." He explained and adjusted his sleeves, noticing the writing peeking out from under Yukhei's own.
"Aw, really? You wouldn't mind if I sat with you until he comes back, would you?" Yukhei asked with a sweet smile. Jungwoo bit his bottom lip, something that Yukhei would jump around in pure joy about had he been home (maybe [definitely] even more), and looked away with a shrug. "Sounds good to me," He said.
"Good," Yukhei laughed, and as they grew quiet and awkward, Yukhei opened his mouth again. "Oh, by the way, my friend and I are gonna head to the mall and probably get ice cream or something after school. Even if it is cold. If you're not busy would you wanna come with?" Yes! You did it you lame sack of—
"I don't think I have practice today, so yeah. I'll go with after I tell my mom. Which friend?" Jungwoo asked out of curiosity with a(n angelic) laugh and he picked his pen up to write a reminder to call his mom on his wrist.
"Ten," Yukhei answered with a stupid smile. How could he not? He just said he'd go on an almost-date with him... and Ten.
"Ah, okay," Jungwoo hummed and wrote on his wrist, the stuff he wrote yesterday already washed off. Yukhei watched him with a smile, having his cheek on his palm when he felt his wrist sting. He looked away to check his wrist and the reddening marks, and when he saw what was written he almost screamed.
'Call mom later!' And a little ice cream drawing next to it.
Maybe it was just a coincidence, but part of his gut was telling him it wasn't just that. And, y'know, you gotta follow your gut.
Yukhei cleared his throat nervously, feeling like he was gonna explode. "I'll uh— I'll be right back. Bathroom, y'know..." He trailed off and rushed out of the room, Jungwoo watching him with an almost loving smile.
