She only lives with her mother.
Her mother rarely returns home as her work demands so.
One midnight, she hears the doorbell ring.
From her bedroom, she wonders downstairs to check whether to receive the guess or not.
"Honey, it's me," her mother's voice penetrated the walls from outside.
Immediately, she opens it.
"Mom!" She excitedly hugs her mother, who was dressed in a neat corporate attire.
"Sorry for making you wait, sweetheart," her mother embraces her back.
Both of them strolled upstairs.
Her mother's room is just in front of hers.
She wishes her mother a good night rest as she sees her enter the room.
She closes the door and jumps on her bed.
Then her phone beeps.
She opens a notification.
It is a message from her mother:
Sweetie, I won't be coming home tonight. It's work. Be safe, honey. Lock the doors.Then she hears a knock on her door.
