Mark sighed and stretched out of bed. He had woken up before the alarm clock told him he had to get up so he divided to take the morning slow. He didn't need to be at work till later today so he could sleep in more if he wanted.
He quickly tossed away that thought when he looked out the sliding doors to see it was a beautiful day. "I think I'll go outside....do what, I'll just figure out later I suppose." Mark smiled to himself as he spoke. Having a big house was nice and all but it did get kinda lonely, he once tried having Felix and Ken stay over more then necessary but that turned into a disaster.
"I should let someone else live with me," Mark let his sentience trail off looking at his house for the millionth time and not thinking of it as a house. "It just looks like no one lives here," he sighed to himself before putting on a comfortable shift and shads then heading out the door.
"The park would do just fine for today I guess."
Then just like that, Mark was off to the park to sit on a bench and do nothing for the next fifteen minuets. When Mark go to the park he found a bench in the shade and sat, leaning back and putting his arms up on the back rest.
He did not hear the two children sneaking up on him, so it startled him to hear a sudden voice. "How wears shads, in the shade?" The child was male.
"O my gosh, Tim, you can't just ask people why they wear shads in the shade! What if he's a vampire and needs it to survive?"
Mark chuckled softly to himself, "I don't look like a vampire do I?" Mark sat up and took off his shades all while smiling at the two kids.
"See Sam, not a vampire." Tim spoke while shaving a hand forward at Mark.
Mark couldn't help his smile, it was funny the way children interacted when they didn't understand something or found things funny.
"So Mr. Shades....what are you doing?" Tim, seeming to be the more talkative one asked. Mark smiled at the two, "Well I was resting here under this tree. What are you two doing here?"
"We-" Tim started very proudly, "-are hiding from out babysitter Jack. Who I see running towards us because we didn't tell him we we're gonna play hide-and-seek."
Mark raised an eyes brow when he felt a presence behind him, he could hear heavy panting and some form of words. "You two can't run off like that, your mothers would kill me if I lost you two."
Mark smiled and turned to sit on his side facing 'Jack' "o but they didn't run off, they were just playing hide-and-go-seek." Jack sighed and went around the bench only to slump down on it. "I would like it if you two told me we were playing these games before we start playing.
Tim and Sam smiled like nothing was wrong with what they just did to Jack. "Ok then, we're gonna play in the sandbox!" Tim shouted then grabbed Sam's hand and ran off with her.
Jack sighed again and let his head fall back, "I'm so sorry with what ever they said to you."
Mark smiled and waved his hand, "no, no nothing bad. It was all laughs." Mark slid his shades back on, because now there was someone who might know him from the news and he didn't was to take that chance of drawling to much attenuate.
Jack let his head fall forward into his hands and groaned, "They're great children really they are, it's just sometimes, it was to much for me to handle."
"Well, you're doing better then me because I wouldn't know."
Jack looked up, "Really? Sorry you just look like a dad guy."
Mark did a playful shrug, "I've never had children before and I don't know if I should take 'dad guy' as a complement or not."
Jack huffed and closed his eyes, "I am so sorry, I'm really bad at first impressions. I also have horrible luck...watch I do something stupid, someone popular will see then laugh about it in public or even worse the press."
There was a small silence of Mark biting his lip not wanting to say anything because of who he was. Jack cut through it again with another fazing of words. "Not that I follow any of that stuff really, it's to much of a hassle, I just have my friend Felix fill me in on everything that's going on in the world."
Mark was about to open his mouth and ask his they were talking about the same 'Felix' but Jack rushed off to Tim and Sam before he did. The two kids turned waved at Mark then went sprinting off with Jack in tow.
Mark closed his mouth, nodded, stood up, then went to go home wondering if he'll ever see Jack again.
(I'm gonna make this multiple parts. This chapter was just getting a little long.)
