Her Letter

It was finally the day, it was Valerie's 1oth birthday, she was so excited that she swiftly hoped out of bed, got ready and zoomed downstairs where her Parents would greet her.

"Morning Mum, morning Dad" Valerie said while giving them a peck on the cheek, "Morning Valerie, are you ready to open your first present?" They both said in unison, Valerie jumped up and down like a Kangaroo with excitement showed in her eyes, as her parents grabbed a neatly folded envelope with a H sealed with wax in the back to make sure it's sealed in a secured way, Valerie looked at them with confusion until she turned it over to reveal her full name and her address.

"Go ahead open it, It's about time you finally got yours" Valerie's dad said with proud heard in his voice and Valerie's mother just covered her mouth with her hands and tearing up. Without wasting a second Valerie gently opened the neat envelope and read what the letter said.

Dear Miss Iris

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment, Term begins on September 1, We await your owl by no later than July 31.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry UNIFORM First-year students will require:

1.Three sets of plain work robes (black)

2.One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear

3.One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)

4.One winter cloak (black, with silver fastenings) Please note that all pupil's clothes should carry name tags. By now Valerie was basically jumping up and down hugging her parents a lot, she was so excited she waited for this moments ever since she heard about Hogwarts and how you learn magic. "Well, Valerie dear, we are going shopping for you supplies after you finish unwrapping all your gifts and presents, so in a hurry to get shopping for her supplies, Valerie opened up on her presents and thanked her parents for all the wonderful presents and after that they head of to Diagon Alley.

Valerie and her parents had just gotten to Diagon Alley by using Floo Powder, The little 10 year old Valerie just couldn't stop jumping around everywhere, she was so excited to get everything, so her parents though it'll be a good idea to get her first ever want first, so they headed over to Ollivanders, once they got there they were greeted by an old looking man, judging by his looks, he must be Ollivander.

"Ah, Miss Iris, Mrs Iris and Mr Iris, it's been a long time, I remember when you two came in here to get your first wands, and oh, your daughter looks exactly like the both of you" Ollivander greeted in a cheerful tone. "Now Miss Iris, come here and let me see what wand would pick you". With caution Valerie slowly walked up to the counter as Ollivander went to pick a wand for Valerie.

"Ah!, here we go, Dragon heartstring and and Willow" Ollivander said as he handed Valerie the wand. "There we go, now flick it around", Just as Valerie did, it seemed that the wand broke a vase that was on a counter, "Hmm, Nope, not that one, hm, how about this one, Cherry and unicorn hair", Again Valerie did a flick and the wand seemed to brake something else, Valerie than placed the wand back onto the counter as Ollivander went to find another wand.

"Hm, I wonder, Phoenix Feather and Rosewood, this is a very special wand, it has the 4 house animals engraved on it" Ollivander said as he carefully handed Valerie the wand, the moment Valerie held the wand and gust of wind surrounded Valerie, her Beautiful Ice Blue air flowing behind her, Valerie knew that this was the wand for her.

"A very nice wand that you got there Valerie" Her Mum said as they walked out of Ollivanders. "Time to get your robes" Her mum said as they headed towards Madam Malkin's Robes for all occasions to get Valerie robes, while her father was off buying Valerie an owl at Eeylops Owl Emporium. As Valerie and her mum headed out with her new robes, Valerie's dad met up with them holding a golden cage with a Beautiful Snowy Owl inside, Valerie instantly fell in love with the owl and named him Whitley, names after his White coat of feathers.

Finally after a few hours Valerie and her parents headed home after a busy day at Diagon Alley, Valerie was that exhausted that the moment she got home, she hugged her parents goodnight and went to bed, preparing herself for a busy day tomorrow.
