"He has a...?" I was still stunned from Raphael's announcement. Currently we were in Donny's car on our way to his again. After coming back without a plan and a clue what was going to happen to us I must've looked like a defeated mess.

I don't think Donny knew what to say because he avoided answering me by turning up the music.

"A wife... And kid" Donny finished. Wow

"Wow" I mumbled. This is huge, like I was sort of coming to terms with the W word but he has a kid? Who'd give him a kid? "Are you sure" I asked. I wanted Donny to say joke or laugh but nothing.

"Surprised?" Was Donny kidding? That's probably the understatement of the year.

"Is she Christina?" I asked. Truthfully I really wanted it to be. Then I'd know why he took an interest in me

"Yeah" Donny said as he pulled onto the motorway. I still couldn't understand how someone could bare Raphael's child

"Is his kid cute?" We passed the spot that last night was our make out session spot and as if Donny read my mind he squeezed my thigh

"Yeah, he's 3 and kinda toothless" he chuckled

"You let me sleep with a dad" I said disgust filling me.

"In my defence I didn't know" Donny defended himself with the universal signal for 'don't shoot'

"But you picked him because I look like his wife?"

"He needed to love you like I did, he wouldn't of helped otherwise" Donny's face fell slightly as he confessed his motive.

"Oh" Donny loved me? Like love-love?

"And he's the only one who'll help us" he explained "and it's not like they're together.." He continued to talk about how they were separated, Raphael and his wife, so Raphael could work and 'sort himself out' which meant sleep with every woman until he realised Chistina was perfect for him.

Donny fishes explaining the ins and outs that make up Raphael when we pulled on to Donny's road to see many black cars lined on both sides. This scene was very familiar, the ring was here.

Car's ranging from 2011 to this year lined the street of this little suburb. Woman were peering through their nets for better looks and men opened up their front doors wagging closed fists at culprits who'd dared to block them in. A couple or bins had been knocked over too.

"Shit" we both said. I unbuckled myself and slipped under the nook of the dash and the floor. Donny opened the glove compartment on my head and muttered a sorry and cocked his gun. It rested on his thigh and I watched him closely.

Donny's eyes where focused and were unreadable as he continued driving to his house. Why was he so on edge? Did the last meeting end badly? The cars wheels turned and jolted into the curb. Was Donny not parking in his drive? Unless someone parked in his spot?

"Stay here" he said while disguising it as a cough. I touched his leg and whispered good luck. He didn't look at me, he just got out of his car muttering something.

---

It felt like an hour but checking Donny's phone confirmed it'd only been 20 minutes since he'd left me in his car. I hadn't dared to surface from the floor in fears I'd get caught. There was always one person to watch over the cars and alert them if trouble showed up.

Someone unlocked the car and I froze. I hid behind my hands and waited for the door to open. I didn't even understand what I was doing with my hands but I knew if it wasn't Donny we'd both be dead.
