Steven and Harvey Brunswick were both one day after each other. Harvey, the oldest, was born on the 13th of december. Steven, the youngest, was born a day after, on the 14th. The fact that they looked completely like each other surprised everyone. They were not twins, but since they were practically identical, they were referred to as twins.

They grew up beside one another, sharing a bedroom in the cottage that there parents owned. They both had very different personalities.

Steven was an optimistic, adventurous person, who loved to climb trees and ride bikes. He was thorough in everything he did, and never cut corners. He had respect for everyone who deserved it, and was brave beyond his years.

Harvey was a problem child. He was stubborn and didn't do anything unless he had a good reason to do it. He would stay indoors most of the time, sleeping, reading, or listening to music. He was also brave beyond his years, but only showed his bravery when the time depended on it. Despite all this, Harvey had a deep fondness of his younger brother

Argus and Maria Brunswick, the parents, first realised Harvey was a dark child when they got a phone call from the twins school; Seagrave elementary.

They were eating dinner when it happened.

' Argus dear, see who that is on the phone will you?'

Argus leaned back from the table to take a better look at the number flashing on the screen of the phone. ' it's the school, love,' he replied.

' Better answer it then, just in case it's something important.'

At this point, Harvey realised he was in trouble and moved to get up from the table, his cheeks flushed.

' Sit, dear. You haven't even finished your dinner,' Maria whispered across the table. Maria might of looked small and thin, but she could put a commanding edge to her voice that nobody wanted to mess with.... Not even Harvey

After 5 minutes of Argus talking quietly on the phone, the family finally heard whatever was being said.

' Harvey, did you get in a fight today at school?' Argus asked after he had put the receiver back into the cradle. Harvey nodded.

' Why didn't you tell us,' Argus exploded!

' Wait a minute love, let's hear what Harvey has to say first,' Maria said turning to Harvey.

' He had a different opinion to me,' Harvey blurted. ' I said that it would be brilliant to be the last man on earth, because nobody would be able to tell me what to do. He said that I was wrong.... So I punched him...'

' YOU BROKE HIS FUCKING NOSE!' yelled Argus, which made Maria start shouting too.

' Go to your room boys,' said Maria quietly, preparing for an argument. ' Go to sleep, I will speak to you in the morning Harvey.'

Obediently, they went upstairs to the bedroom and covered themselves with the duvets to blot out the sound of their screaming parents.

' Are you OK Harvey,' asked Steve timidly, for he had been there when the fight took place and had seen Harveys anger.

Harvey didn't answer, he was to busy listening to his parents arguing about him.

' IT'S NOT  RIGHT,' Argus was shouting. ' HE'S ONLY EIGHT FUCKING YEARS OLD, EIGHT YEAR OLDS DO NOT BREAK EACH OTHERS NOSES-HE'S A  FREAK. HE'S NOT RIGHT IN THE HEAD. WHAT IF THAT BOYS PARENT SUE US. WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY FOR THE COST OF A BROKEN NOSE FOR CHRIST'S SAKE.'

Argus went on and on, but one word was burned into Harveys brain, and it would stay there for a long time.

FREAK.
