3 Months Later....
Mhia got promoted from Asst. Head Researcher to Department Head. She was so happy that after all she'd been through, a good thing happened in her life again.
When her family knew about her break-up with Ted, she'd been consistently offered to move with her sisters in UK or Aussy but she declined them. She's determined to move-on on her own after her couple besties went back to the Philippines.
"Congratulations, Mhia!" Bati sa kanya ng mga katarbaho nya. Since she's been promoted, most of her teammates were given promotions as well. So they decided to go out after work.
While they were having fun, Mitch decided to call Mhia to tell her something she needed to know. But she made sure Remi is beside Mhia while they talk. Mhia was busy savoring the view that she didn't notice her phone ringing. "Girl, nagriring fone mo."Remi told Mhia. She then picked and answered her phone.
"Hey, Besty! Napatawag ka?" Mhia said to Mitch. "Yes, Besty. Needed to tell you something really important. But before that, congratulations on your promotion! We're so happy and proud of you. But sorry if I might ruin the celebration after this call. I just really feel the need to tell you now before you learn it from others." Mitch said. Mhia glanced at Remi trying to get a clue from her but Remi was busy over his phone. "Hey, Besty! What is it about? C'mon, spill it. Hahaha!" Mhia trying to lighten the mood.
"Okay. Just now, we learned Raya is pregnant. And I guess you know who's the Dad, already. How did we learn about it? The stupid girl posted the PT result and lab result on Ted's wall. But with a caption that says "Hey! It's confirmed. But I know we've talked about this already and I respect your decision. I'm still hoping though you'll change your mind if this will already pop. Take care BabyDaddy!" Kaya tinawagan ko talaga sya. To clear the issue once and for all 'coz I know he's still sending you emails every day, right? Sorry if inunahan na kita kasi gusto ko lang talaga na magmove on kana completely sa kanya. And Besty, it's confirmed, kanya yun. Pero nagkasundo na daw sila na hanggang sustento lang sya sa baby and nothing more than that kasi nga, he still wanted to pursue you. Ang kapal diba?" Mitch said.
Mhia on the other end cried quietly from what she heard. Remi, get her phone and talked to Mitch, "Siszt, tawag nalang kami mamaya ah. Wala eh. Di napigilan eh. Iyak pa din. Don't worry ako na muna bahala sa kanya. Magiging okay din to." Mitch on the other line cried as well but continued talking to Remi to make sure her Besty will be well taken care of "Rem, please nalang paalalay sa kanya ah. Got no choice but to let her know now kasi. Kesa sa iba pa nya malaman diba? Though I already told Ted to take down the post. And as of now, di ko na naman nakikita. Tawagan nyo ako mamaya ah. Please. Thank you, Remi. Bye."
Mhia excused herself and went to the CR. When she came out, she went straight to Remi where she is already talking to somebody who looks so familiar to her. "Girl, look who's here. Highschool friend mo daw, si Dee Lopez." Remi said to Mhia. Mhia was a bit shock to see him. Dee is his all-time crush since high school and up today. She was stunned. "Hoy! Earth to Mhia. Okay, ka na ba?" Remi asked Mhia. "Oh sorry about that. Hi, Dee! It's good to see you again. Kumusta?" Mhia said.
Remi excused herself so the two could talk. The silence drew between the two. Dee decided to start a conversation even if he feels a bit awkward.
"So, Mhia, how are you? Hope everything's fine." Dee started. "Ahm yes, I'm fine. Did Kuya Rhylie asked you to look for me?" Mhia replied. "Yeah, since I'm just in the area, I think he noticed my location so he asked me to check on you. Is everything okay? 'Coz I saw you earlier talking over the fone and you're crying. I didn't approach you right away so I won't interrupt you." Dee asked Mhia while looking worried at her. Mhia then glanced at Dee giving him a smile to show she's fine. "Ahm knowing Kuya Rhylie, I guess he already told you what's going on. So there's no sense if I'll be pretending, right? Well, I don't know how to go about it. But you know, I'm still in the process of moving on from a bitter past. And just now, 3 months after, just learned he got his "best friend" pregnant while he's still trying to pursue me. I didn't cry because I still like him or that I wanted us to get back together, I cried because she made me feel more stupid. For trusting him that long. But don't worry, I'm fine. There are more important things that I should give more attention than this shit."
After the party. Dee asked Mhia if he could drive her home. Mhia was about to decline since she got her car when Remi, grab her car key and said, "sige Dee, ikaw na maghatid sa kanya. Hiniram ko kasi kotse nya kasi susunduin ko sina Mama mamaya sa airport para derecho nalang ako dun. Diba Mhia?"
Mhia was about to argue but Remi was persistent so the two could talk more.
When they reached Mhia's place, she offered Dee coffee before he goes but he politely declines so he could let her rest. But he said, he'll meet her after work so they could have dinner together and she agreed.
Mhia learned that Dee also came from a bitter-ending relationship. Worst than what happened to her since Dee, was left a week before their supposed wedding day. But Dee didn't dwell much on it since from the very start, he's not 100% sure of his decision 'coz for him, he still feels something is missing. He moved on and forgave the people involved for giving him heartache and embarrassment.
Dee, on the other hand, has been quietly stalking Mhia through their common friend, Rhylie. He got a big crush on her since high school. But he knew from the very start that it's not just merely admiration. He even planned to court her before senior high but he was asked by his best friend, Rhylie, to give it up to give way for Rhylie's brother, Rhayne. When he learned things didn't work out for them, he continued knowing her through Rhylie since, after Senior High, they migrated to the US. And even if he's been in a relationship, he's still getting updates about Mhia. But when she started dating his "Ex-Fiancé", he lies low getting updates about Mhia since he thought, there's no hope for them to be together.
But things happened in their separate lives.
