It's been 3 years since Mhia ended her relationship with Teddy. And 3 years since she went away and focused herself on just work. Avoided communications with others, except for work, her best friends, high school buddies, and immediate family members. She's also been away with all social media apps to focus on herself and not be influenced by pain or others.

3 years ago, a year and a half after their engagement. They had issues with their communication. As Mhia had been so busy with her multi-million project.

"Thank you for the time, Babe. Miss na miss na kita. Sorry, di ako makakauwi kasi dito pala ang International Convention natin. Makakaattend ka kaya?"

"Babe, ngayon lang uli ako naka check ng email. Okay lang na di ka makaattend. Basta ingat ka jan. Sorry, di tayo makaka video call kasi kasali kami as preparation for the convention. Love you. Miss you."

Mhia was planning to surprise Teddy so he told him she's not attending their International Convention. But everything's set. She already booked in the same hotel as Teddy's with the help of their friend Han, a major organizer of their event.
She's already in the hotel a night before the said convention. They were communicating that night, and Mhia's been asking about his plans before going to the convention. He told her, he'll be having breakfast at a nearby café because the food there was so good. So then Mhia planned to go early so she can surprise him.
Mhia is already at the café, ordered for her and Teddy's. Teddy arrived while she's still at the counter. He didn't notice her as he was looking for a vacant table. And he seated just at the back of Mhia's table. Mhia didn't see him as well when she went back to her table. So she checked on her phone if there's any update from Teddy, but there's none.
A few minutes later, she saw a familiar face outside the café, calling somebody. Then the man at her back answered a call, and the voice was so familiar to her. She heard him say, "Yes Best, I'm here inside at table number 7. Get in so we can order."
While she was listening, she was looking at the familiar girl outside who's already walking towards the entrance. And so she pretended to be busy with her phone so the girl won't notice her.
Then she started to listen to their convo again...
Him: Best, thank you so much for driving over. But before anything else, breakfast?
The Girl: Yes, please. Can you just order for us? Coffee and sandwich will be fine.
Him: Okay. I'll just go and get our food.
Minutes later, he went back to their table with food. While they're eating, the girl started the convo.
The girl: So, what's your problem this time?
Him: Same as usual. She's been too busy with her career and doesn't seem to have time for me anymore. I've been trying to understand, but sometimes, I don't know anymore. You know, it's hard to be away from your loved ones and communication is just the way to feel better from being homesick. You expected her to at least have a longer time to talk on the phone or video call, but lately, kahit one minute, di pa mapagbigyan eh.
The girl: Have you talked to her about it?
Him: Paano?! Eh di na nga nag-aabot oras namin. She's supposed to be joining this convention, but just last week, she said she cannot attend due to some other conflict schedule. Ewan! Di ko na din alam talaga.
The girl: Haay naku! Kung ako nalang kasi pinili mo eh... (Then she laughed.)
Him: Haaay! Ewan. What if nga 'noh? Kung ikaw pinili ko, ano kaya mangyayari?
The girl: Well, I don't know. But we can try.
With that being heard by Mhia, she felt so hurt, so she grabbed her bag to walk out but it got stuck in between her and his chair. At sa lakas ng paghatak nya nang bag, napalingon c Teddy, at nakita sya.
Teddy was shocked, to see Mhia already crying and the she run outside. Teddy, tried to follow her, living the girl in the café. He went to the convention venue, but a lot of participants are already inside. He's had a hard time looking for her.
As for Mhia, she called up their friend Han, as she really needed someone to be with her that moment. Han immediately obliged, met up with her in the ladies room, then Han brought her at their lounge so that they'll have moment to talk.
Teddy, tried calling Mhia's messenger and other socmed platform, but he wasn't successful. He even tried looking for her inside the venue but he didn't see them.
On day 2, he saw the name of Han, on the lists of major organizers, so he assumed, Han knew where Mhia is. He tried to call Han, but she's not answering. After the convention, that's when Han called Teddy, and confirmed that Mhia's with her. To be fair with Teddy, she talked to him so she would know the other side of the story. And then she asked Mhia, if she's okay to talk to Teddy before going back to the Philippines.
Mhia agreed as she also wanted to clear things between them before going back so she can also have peace of mind. But she's already planning to break up with him, and have a talk for closure.
After the last night of their convention, they went out, to have a talk. Han went with them but she's with other friends doing other stuff to give privacy to the couple. Teddy explained his side, and asked sorry. Mhia, also asked sorry for her lapses and then gave back the engagement ring. She told him, "I know I'm partly at fault because I wasn't able to fulfill my duty as your girlfriend, and I'm sorry about it. But, after all that I've heard from you and Ali, I realized, we don't just lack communication, you lack trust on me. Because if you do really trust me, you should've at least tried to open up your problem with me, event just a hint over email or messenger. But then again, you opted to tell it your " bestfriend", the reason of our breakup years before our engagement. So here (getting the engagement ring off her hand and giving it to Teddy), I'm sorry but there's no more reason for us to be together. It's hard, it hurts so much but I believe this is the best for both of us. Thank you for everything. Goodbye, Teddy." Teddy tried to asked Mhia for another chance, but as for Mhia, it's already enough.
She then called up Han, so she can send her to the airport. She's cutting her trip, she's supposed to stay for another week or 2 to spend more time with Teddy, but with what happened, she wanted to go back home to heal herself.

Since she went back from the US, Mhia has changed. She started to be a loner, she's still good at work but she no longer socialize. She preferred to be alone if she can. Her team mates were a bit worried about her. They didn't know what really happened and they're afraid to ask her since she gets irritated whenever they'll try to ask how she is, or show care to her.
But her closest friend in their team, Remi, decided to ask Teddy what happened, and told him the changes they've noticed with her. He told Remi what happened. And he asked her to just understand and support Mhia. Remi, got so mad on Teddy and she felt so sorry for her friend. Since then, even if Mhia, would not talk too much, she stayed on her side. She'll just wait whenever Mhia is ready to open up.
Mhia, disconnected herself from any socmed platforms. She just do communication through call, text or email. And it's more of for work, he immediate family, highschool barkada and office friends.
