Chapter four
“Don’t touch me!” Sterling screamed as Vivian tried to get her to wear another dress.
“Come on please! You looked so lovely yesterday,” Vivian pleaded.
“No. I will not play dress ups for someone I don’t even like! I will choose my own clothing today and that’s final.”
Vivian growled in annoyance but let it go, she was too exhausted to argue anymore. She left the room as Sterling headed to the closet.
There were so many options of clothing, everything from long silk evening gowns to jeans and track pants. Sterling settled for some dark jeans and a navy blue V-neck which was slightly large on her. She found some dark blue slip on’s in the draw below and headed out the door. She expected to see Vivian but instead Will was standing there wearing black skinny jeans and a white shirt which Sterling could see his muscles through. She would have melted if it weren’t for her self-control. She refused to let herself feel anything but hate for these monsters, but she knew this was just the start of it.
“Good morning,” she said spitefully.
He dipped his head in response. She scowled before stalking past him and down the hall. She came to the marvellous stair case and began to descend it. She was aware Will was following her but she ignored him. She briefly paused and looked towards the front door. A temptation to run out of the doors washed over her but she stopped herself to avoid embarrassment. She continued past them like they didn’t bother her. She went through a large single door on the other side of the staircase which led to another hallway.
“Where’s the kitchen? I’m starving,” She asked, turning around to face Will.
“Here,” he said, walking in front of her.
After many twists and turns throughout the endless hallways, they finally came to the kitchen. Sterling sat down at one of the bar stools and looked at Will expectantly.
“Well?” She asked after he didn’t get the hint.
“What?”
“My food isn’t going to make itself. So chop, chop, get cooking,” she said with a cheeky smile.
“You’re kidding, right?” he asked with disbelief.
“Obviously not. Besides I am a guest in this house and you are not being a very good host.”
He growled under his breath but went to the huge stainless steel fridge and pulled out some bacon and eggs and put them on the bench. “I’m busy, but I will get one of the maids to cook for you.”
“No,” Sterling said. “I want you to cook for me.”
“Why?” He said harshly.
She flinched at the tone in his voice and she dropped and head. “It’s the least you could do for me after throwing me into that wall.” Her voice was sad, quiet and her whole demeanour held vulnerability.
But Will saw straight through it. “You are so manipulative.”
She lifted herself again and smiled cheekily. “No, I’m just smart. Now cook me breakfast.”
He sighed heavily but did what she asked.
After she had eaten, she turned on her stool to face Will who was leaning against the doorway. “I want to go outside.”
“Well as it happens, my father removed the barriers from the door and onto the front gate. So we can go outside.”
“I said I want to go outside. Not we,” she clarified.
