Chapter 4-Ariel

Ariel's POV

I was having a nice, peaceful night of sleep when it became morning and all of a sudden I heard an aquatic-Jamaican song. It woke me up. I immediately knew it was Sebastian who had set my alarm last night, he likes to wake me up early so I can get ready for the day. But today was TOO early! It was 5:30 am! Thanks, Sebastian. What a guardian.
My first thought was to go back to sleep but then I realized that he would just wake me up even earlier tomorrow! So I yawned and hopped out of my nautical themed bed.
I dragged myself to my dresser and grabbed the first thing I saw. Luckily it looked normal! It was a sea green dress that looked like it belonged to a human teenage girl about to go to a fancy dinner party...
It went just above my knees and had a cute, white lace collar. It also had white lace lining on the bottom of it. Pretty cute, something Adriana would choose if she had legs like me and could wear dresses. By the time I got changed and was fully awake, 2 hours had gone by. How? I don't even know... I did manage to brush my teeth and comb out my hair with a dinglehopper during that period of time but still!
Eric and I always eat breakfast at 8 so maybe today I could be at the table before him! But then I remembered that today is my day to be in charge of Melody's necessities... Oh well, I love being with her! I rushed to her room that was yellow with tints of orange and red. She was snoring in her crib cutely.
"Awww, Melody! You're so cute, sweetie!" I cooed as I walked near her. She sat up and yawned once she heard me.
"M-m-ma-mama-mama." She said. She didn't know english too well yet, she was still only 2 years old! I decided that today we would continue on teaching Mel how to swim so I put her in her little yellow one piece that had an orange flower and said Mel in red. Over that, I put a cute red dress with black polka dots. I picked her up and grabbed my swimsuit, Eric's swimsuit and a tote bag. By then it was 7:50. I walked down the stairs with Melody in one arm, a tote bag with 2 swimsuits and 3 towels in the other.
Once I got off the stairs, I set Mel down to walk to the kitchen by herself! I grabbed some of her beach toys and stuffed them in the gold-navy blue striped tote. I heard a clang. Then I ran in the kitchen after her to make sure she didn't touch anything that would hurt her. She just sat there on the ground staring at me. I sighed with relief, children could worry me so much. Only a spoon had dropped from the cook. I walked to the pantry and grabbed a ton of sodas, juices and snacks that we could munch on at the beach. I put them in the now overstuffed bag.
I walked back over to Mel and put her in her high chair. I set my bag down next to my seat and sat down. Soon after that, my savior, Eric came down the stairs and walked into the kitchen. He gave me a kiss on the cheek, kissed Melody on the forehead and then sat down across from me.
"you came before me for once," he joked.
"Not to mention, on a mommy duty day!" I smiled. "Oh! I forgot something! I'll be right back!"
I stood up and walked one room over to the family room. There sat two fishbowls. One was larger then the other. The first held my "guardian" Sebastian, who's a crab. Mel loves him hehe. The second held my best friend, Flounder and his family. He's a fish just so you know... Yellow with blue stripes!
Their fishbowls sat on a rollable cart so that we could move them around easily. I pushed the cart over to the kitchen so we could all talk together. "I was thinking that we could go to the beach today!" I announced. Everyone cheered. Mel lifted up her dress to reveal her swimsuit.
"Mama alweady told mwe!" She bragged.
"Yes, mommy did!" I teased her as I tickled her. She responded with giggle after giggle. Soon the chef came over.
"Today for breakfast, we have a yogurt parfait with oats, granola, mango and blueberries. We also have a dark chocolate-orange zest soufflé! As well as a passion fruit creme brûlée!" he tells us as he gives us all a small plate/bowl of each item. He gives Flounder and his family some fish food and Sebastian some crab food, I don't really know what either of them actually eat but they enjoy it so whatever.
"Thank you, chef!" Eric and I say in unison.
"Fwank wu chefff" Melody responds.
After we ate our delicious breakfast, we headed down to the beach. I held Melody and the tote bag while Eric pushed the cart with Sebastian and Flounder+family. I had already slipped on my bikini. It had a purple top and green bottom. I chose it because it reminded me of my mermaid life from the past. Eric had put his on right after he found out about going to the beach. I helped Melody take off her dress and put her floaties on. She played in the sand first. I decided to jump into the water.
SPLASH! was all I heard as I dived into the beautiful blue liquid.
It was cool and refreshing. The sun today was hot. Very hot. Smoldering hot. But as soon as I emerged to take a breath I was dragged down to the bottom. An air bubble appeared around me. Then I saw a face. A...purple face?
"Hellooo Arielll" the purple faced, hoarse voiced woman lulled.
"Ursula. I thought you were dead..." I responded sassily yet worriedly.
"Eric? He couldn't do any harm!" she teased. I growled. Kinda.
"Listen Ariel. I need my life back. So you gotta sacrifice yours. Or you'll pay." She threatened. I shook my head. "Oh? The guppy doesn't wanna listen?" she asked sarcastically. "Well, bye bye little fool!" she yelled maniacally.
She sprinkled an ugly green dust on me and soon I was thrown into a different dimension. I looked around at my surroundings, forest. And...targets? I saw a bow lying against the trunk of a tree. How odd.
I ran inside the castle nearby, immediately greeted by three young boys with curly, bright red hair.
"You aren't Merida. But you kinda look like her." they told me.
"M-Merida?" I asked. "I'm definitely not...Merida. I'm Ariel." I responded.
"We'll help you. You don't belong here." They told me. Kind've offensive but oh well. I nodded.
"Thanks boys." I agreed.

I've been busy! anyways these are the 5 characters in book one! In book two there WILL be some guy characters, so don't worry!
I hope you've enjoyed these previews, it'll be a fun book to write and, hopefully, read.
