Chapter 5

Beatrix's POV

"Brian, what's my schedule today?" I asked him while looking at my watch.

"Ma'am this morning you don't have any meeting but later, exact 3:45 pm you have a schedule at the restaurant of your client to have a good talk about your plans."

"Client?" napatanong ako bigla kasi wala naman akong client na may restaurant.

"Yes ma'am. She called 7:16 am to ask if you're busy, so I told her that you don't have any schedule so she told me to schedule an appointment with you. By the way her name is Ellen Mint." napatawa ako kasi kababata ko si Ellen hindi client.

"She's my childhood friend." and I smiled as I reminisced the memories we had.

I saw him dumb-founded while looking at me as if I did something terrible.

"U-uh? Anything wrong on my face?" I asked him.

"N-nothing ma'am. For the three weeks I've been with you, this is the first time I saw you smile, sincerely." bigla kong binawi ang ngiti sa labi ko.

"You looked pathetic. Knock it off. Well, it's already lunch time let's go get some brunch." I told him and kinuha ko na ang phone and wallet ko.

We went to my favorite restaurant and ordered some food to eat for the both of us.

"Take this as my treat for surviving as my secretary. Enjoy." sabi ko sa kanya and I saw him let his guard down.

"Wait, is this part of my job or I can act at my normal state?" he asked me, as if asking a permission to be normal.

"Let your worries be gone at this time." I assured him with a smile.

"Yosh! Nandyan na yung pagkain!" sabi niya sabay palakpak na parang bata?

"Is this your normal state?"

"Yep, pwede ka naman magtagalog diba? Dugong dugo na ilong ko sayo eh." sabi niya sabay kain ng garlic bread.

I just shrugged my shoulders and took a bite to my seafood pasta. While enjoying my food, I saw a familiar figure of someone sat at the table next to the window. Patiently waiting for someone to come. I secretly checked my phone if he contacted me or not and to burst the bubble of my expectation, I have nothing.

A fine-lady approached him and kissed him on his lips. It's Liam and he's with Anastasia.

"Ma'am?" Brian snapped his fingers to get my attention.

"W-what?"

"I'm asking you po ma'am it you're married na." tanong niya habang sumusubo.

"Chismoso ka rin ano?"

"Nope. Just a keen observant ma'am, and that guy is your husband?  Isn't it?" sabi niya at napatingin ulit ako sa gawi nila Liam.

Pinagpatuloy ko na lang ang pagkain ko kahit gustong gusto ko na sila gisahin ng mga tanong.

"Are you fine with this?" he asked me again.

"I don't know and stop asking me. Finish your food and let's go out without them noticing us." sabi ko sabay tawag ng waiter para mag bayad.

"Oh sht." I cursed.

"Bakit? You forgot to bring cash?" sabi niya habang natatawa.

"Ha ha so funny." sabi ko.

"I'll pay for this, come on let's go." sabi niya sabay bayad ng kinain namin. Wow. Ang kapal ng wallet niya ha.

"B-but.." hindi ko na natuloy sasabihin kasi hinatak na niya ako palabas and cover me as if I am a famous actress.

Nakita kong napatingin sa amin si Liam habang dumadaldal si Anastasia. He's checking me out as if he saw me somewhere. Yeah jerk, I'm your wife.

Napabuga na lang ako ng hangin nung nakalayo na kami sa restaurant pero hindi niya pa rin ako binibitawan.

"Brian, let go of me. I'm alright right now." but he's not listening. I'm kinda emotional and pissed right now.

"As your boss, I demand you to stop." I said firmly and finally he listened.

"No. As the CEO of your rival company,  I demand you to stay still and obey me." I saw him glared at me.

The fck? Rival of our company? My secretary? What the actual fck is that?
