Chapter 20
Escaping Vows, Broken Hearts

Surprisingly, the Beale's had invited the Mitchell's to Aubrey's wedding to Charles.

Beca was more surprised when her Aunt Mildred gave her a dress for the occasion. She didn't adore the fact that they had a party to go when she's sulking about her lover who wouldn't even return her text or call.

She was sad at first, moping about, but the more Chloe ignored her existance, the more it fed Beca's angry part. She didn't do anything wrong! She decided after thinking the whole week over and over. She was polite, kind, generous and chilvarous! She brought Chloe home safe and sound! What did she do to deserve being ignored.

So she grimly put on the damned dress after showering and drying her hair, she aplied her light make-up and did her hair. It wasn't her first time in a dress, but she still felt uncomfortable. She shrug the feeling off and took her purse.

"Where's Eloise?" She asked her aunt when she got to the front door to find the whole family there, but no sight of her older cousin.

"She had to leave for somewhere, dear... She didn't tell us where exactly, but she did say she won't be long, perhaps she'll meet us at the reception." Mildred told her with a smile, before hooking their arms together and entering the limo, Sebastian entering last and sitting by his daughter.

"You look beautiful, Beca." He complimented and the brunette had to control her features as to not show her shock.

Her dad gave her a soft smile before he directed his attention on a book he brought with him, not expecting a response from her. Beca was surprised about her father's warm words to her, she almost couldn't believe it.

Her relatives looked surprise as well but neither said anything about it.

When they got to the place, they were greeted by the whole Beale clan. The wedding reception was at the Beale estate, the mansion was wide and most of the marriages was done there. It was a place fit enough to be a reception anyway.

Entering the hall, Beca quickly scanned the crowd. She found a few familiar faces. The Swanson's were there, a few business partners, the Beale and Mitchell lawyer talking to each other a couple of tables away. Then, her eyes landed on Chloe. On Chloe and a curly haired guy who had his arms around the redhead as they spoke to Richard Beale.

Jealousy immediately boiled in Beca's veins when she caught sight of that. Is that why Chloe wasn't answering her calls? Why she's ignoring the brunette? Was Beca's thoughts right? Was she just Chloe's play thing that was fooled by the redhead's acting. It broke Beca's heart, it broke harder when she caught Chloe's eyes, it was just a fleeting moment, but she saw panic in it before it averted back to the curly haired guy who turned to her, worriedly asking what bothered her. It boiled Beca's blood, but she couldn't do anything about, because the wedding started.

Everyone took their places, everyone were assigned to a table. There weren't too many guest there, some Beca recognized as media reporters and photographers who took note of everyone in the party, she thought best not to cause a scene now that she was here and angry.

"Richard is really upping his game, isn't he?" Her uncle grunted from beside her, his eyes directed to an older man who was talking to the guy Chloe was still holding on to.
