I wanted to try something different so I wrote this. Please comment and tell me if you want more or you can also vote if you like it but I prefer comments. There's not a lot of detail about the characters but I'll get there later in the story if you like it. This is a look at what's going on in their life.

Prologue (Jess)
Lexie and I were getting ready for the super soaker end of the summer game, just as Nick climbed over the fence that separates our houses. "Can't you ever use the gate, my mom always thinks you're going to get hurt and ruin her roses."
"Nope, sorry." He said, coming over to the hose with his gun that was three times the size of mine.
Just then the whistle to signal everyone to the street blew and only Lexie had her gun full. She didn't wait for us as she ran out onto the street like the rest of the teens from Hosting High. "Move over Jess! I need the water." So sad for him, I already started getting my gun full and he was too nice to push me away. I stuck out my tongue at him as the gun got heavier and heavier as the water filled it up.
I screwed on the top to my gun and pulled the trigger. He turned to face me and I saw the water dripping off his nose, chin and down his shirt. "What did you do that for?"
"I wanted to test and see if the gun worked." I said with a giggle.
He turned his light brown eyes away from me and closed the cap to his gun as I continued to laugh. I just couldn't stop.
After a few minutes I calmed down enough for us to leave as we walked onto the street. Suddenly, I felt a nice, cool, wet spray all over my back. I turned around to see Nick rolling on the floor laughing.
I didn't even say anything, I just walked away.
I reached the four way intersection just in time, "ANYONE ELSE?" someone screamed over all the kids that were laughing and joking, excited with anticipation for the game.
"Yah, there's me and Nick down the street rolling on the floor laughing."
Everyone looked down the street at the same time to see Nick doing his smooth walk with a big smile on his face. His smile could make anyone fall in love with him, girls and guys.
"Ok, so now do we have everyone?"
"YES" and "YAH" filled the street.
"You guys all know the rules so GO. You have ten minutes to hide." One of the kids who started the tradition of the last team of three who didn't get wet by the end of the game won 120 popularity points.
I ran to the big oak tree in front of Lexie's house as most of the other kids went to bushes, sheds, etc.
I climbed all the way to the top of the tree so I would have a good view on the entire street. Nick came up next and took the other highest branch. It sagged a bit under his weight, but it's all muscle.
Lexie took the bottom of the tree so she was covered by the leaves but had a good shot on all the kids that would be running around.
After an hour and a half of water spaying through the air we won, Lexie, Nick and I. Our little group of three won again. Four years in a row! We hadn't won the first year we were able to play but since we found the secret of the oak tree we have won every year.
There's only one day left before school starts up again, and with winning the game again it just made me think of something my older sister Laura wrote:
"Lollipops turn into cigarettes. The innocent ones turn into sluts. Homework goes in the trash. Mobile phones are being used in class. Detention becomes suspension. Soda becomes vodka. Bikes become cars. Kisses turn into sex. Remember when getting high meant swinging on the playground? When protection meant wearing a helmet? When the worst things you could get from boys were cooties? Dad's shoulders were the highest place on earth and your momma was your hero? Your worst enemies were your siblings? Race issues were about who ran the fastest and War was only a card game? When wearing a skirt didn't make you a slut? The only drug you knew was cough medicine, and the most pain you felt was when you skinned your knees? Remember when goodbyes only meant until tomorrow? And to think we couldn't wait to grow up. <3 You know it's true."
