Li Jun looked around him. It seems like he is in a room similar to that in chinese historical dramas. Though, the room looks more like a commoners' house than those majestic palace rooms. So, he really was abandoned huh...
"Your highness, this shall be our home today. Don't worry this servant shall guard you till the end. Now sleep alright." After that, Li Jun felt his world sway back and forth as the old lady hummed a calming lullaby.
Distracted from his thoughts, Li Jun looked up at the old lady. She has a wrinkled face with bright green eyes and a head full of greying hair.
Searching through his new memories, he realised this was the old lady who pleaded on his behalf for the emperor to spare his life. This old lady seems to be a servant of his mother...
Why did she risk her own life for me? Am I really worth it?
For the first time in a long while, Li Jun felt an indescribable warmth in his heart. Looking at the old lady, he was reminded of his aunt who treated him just like a son giving him all her love and care. Thinking about how she passed on early and how much he misses her, Li Jun' eyes started to tear up and soon he found himself unable to stop crying.
"Oh no, what's wrong? Shhh shhhh. Don't cry your highness, it's alright, everything's gonna be alright... shhh shhhh..."
Seeing Li Jun bawl his eyes out, the old lady started panicking and tried her best to calm him down. But this only serve to make him cry even more as he was reminded of the fond memories of his aunt and brother...
After what seemed like a long time of pacifying, Li Jun finally composed himself and stopped crying.
'Oh this is so embarrassing! Crying in front of someone I just met!' He thought to himself.
"There there now your highness...shhhh" The old lady said as she swayed him gently.
Soon, Li Jun found himself becoming more and more sleepy and finally he succumbed to the sleep demon.
This was one of the best sleep he ever got.
After awhile, in the midst of his sleep... suddenly a loud thud could be heard.
"Bam!"
He drowsily struggled to open his eyes.
What was that?
"You careless fool! Put it down gently... his highness is still asleep... "
"So-sorry"
Footsteps sounded, approaching closer and closer to him. Then, he heard the sound of a door opening. He turned and saw the old lady walking towards him.
"Oh no, your highness you have awaken... were you shocked oh you poor thing shhhh now go back to sleep alright..." Saying this, she picked him up from the crib and did the gentle swaying again.
And sure enough, he started drifting off to sleepland. But not before hearing the old lady whisperingly screaming at someone.
" Da sha, how many times did I tell you? See, you've awoken his highness!!! Now...." was the last thing he heard before falling asleep.
