It was after school -with some luck Asher didn’t spot me- and I went to the library to do some homework until night came. The twins already went home because there was something urgent. As I was on my way home, I received a message from Luciel

» Nah, it’s okay Lu for the millionth time.

LuLu: Promise we’ll treat you after school! <3

» You don’t have to.

LuLu: We will, I vow to take care of my brother.

LuLu: ‘our’ brother, Lucas smacked me XD

» You deserved that tho.

LuLu: Bitch :p

I smiled at the thought of Ezekiel again. Damn that boy has an effect on me.

Our family lives near the forest for hunting purposes -not that I’ll join them- our house has a huge backyard that leads to the town’s forest and the forest connects to our school.

As I got near the house, I noticed Asher’s car in our driveway. Great. Now Asher is telling Father what had happened at school, I don’t want to deal a beating just for one day, I’ve been lucky today.

I went straight to the backyard, then run towards the forest to the place where I spent my time ever since I was a kid. Running to the depths of the forest until I reach the place, it’s still beautiful as time flies.

It was a field, full of beautiful flowers and has a lake. The moon rest on the sky above the lake that creates a beautiful shine by the moonlight.

i sat on one of the large rocks that is near the lake and took out my pocket knife.

‘you’re a pathetic excuse for a hunter!’

‘An Arrow must be merciless!’

‘No son of mine is weak!’

Those words are knives stabbed in my heart, everything ‘he’ says is true.

As I met my blade onto my skin I slowly create scars, some are deep while some are not. I slowly bleed not caring the pain I’m feeling.

I look up at the moon as my visions weakens then I was welcomed by darkness.

E Z E K I E L  B L A C K

“The meeting is over, be careful for any hunter attacks. Don’t lower your guards!” I said as my pack members nodded in agreement, Lucas and Hunter are beside each other as Luciel is whining because of she doesn’t have a mate yet. Everyone is getting outside while some went to their room.

“That’s my boy.” My dad – the former alpha – said as he clamped is hand onto my shoulder.

“Thanks dad. I’m going out for a run.” I said as dad nodded.

“Sure, Just go back as soon as possible.”

“Yeah.” I nodded as I went outside greeting some of my members then shifted into my wolf, a black as night fur then lighting blue eyes apparently my former fur – white and gray – changed to black as maturity comes along with my eyes. My clothes are still intact when I shift, we’ve learned the advance way of shifting with our clothes on.

I started to sprint, zig-zagging from left to right then stop my track as my nose hit an addictive smell.

Sweet vanilla and spice.

It was Jin’s

Then I sprint towards the scent, dodging trees and rocks. The scent leads me to the field, where I spent my pup days with a human boy that has an awfully similar scent as Jin.

Leading me towards some large rock I leap then shifted back to my human form. My eyes widen at the scene.

Lying down was a passed-out Jin with fresh cuts on both of his wrists as he was holding a pocket knife. I quickly went to his side as I check his pulse. Still beating. Then examine the cuts, some are deep while some are not.

I feel my eyes swell with tears. Imagining a life without my mate already makes my heart and wolf whimper in pain.

“You’ll be alright.”

I lift him up then kissing his forehead lightly earning a blush from me, I didn’t expect to do that. Examining his features, he looks like the boy that saved me when I was a pup.

‘because he is.’

Shaking my head, I dash back to the pack house to get him treated.

Sooner or later I’ll protect you from hurting yourself
