A Good, Bad Idea

The Trip

"God fucking dammit" a man said as he shuffled through a mess of tangled cords and various cameras.  "Where did I put that camera" the man questions as his phone lights up letting him know of an incoming call. He answers and a woman's voice can be heard through the phone. "Yo, you find that camera yet Louis?" the woman questioned.  "No, I can't find it through this mess of a box." Louis said angrily. "Hey listen Kiara I'll text you when I find it" Louis said. "Okay but don't take too long, we all know how you are." Kiara jokes.  Louis scoffs through the phone and a laugh can be heard as the phone clicks to a silence. Just as the call ends a message appears on screen from Saphira. It reads: *I got everything organized, and the hotel has been booked. See you and Kiara soon*. "Aha! finally found it" Louis says to his self holding up a cam corder. He finishes stuffing clothes into his bag and begins walking out the door of his apartment locking it behind him as he exits. He takes out his phone and begins texting the group chat of Saphira, and Kiara. A reply becomes instant as Kiara replies with: *Finally found it huh? Lol.* Louis shakes his head at his phone and begins texting a reply back: *Yeah, I did actually and for your information it was never lost just misplaced.*  A message appears on the phone from Saphira reading: *Typical Louis always "misplacing" things. Anyway I am on my way to pick up Kiara then I should be at your apartment shortly. See you soon!* Louis puts his phone in his pocket and begins sitting down by his bag.  Several minutes go by and a blue ford mustang with red stripes appears in the parking lot. Kiara's head pops out of the passengers seat window as she yells out for me to hurry up. Louis get up and brushes the dirt off his pants and picks up his bag.  He rushes towards the car yelling for them to pop open the trunk in which they do. Louis stuffs his bag into the trunk, and climbs into the back behind Kiara's seat.  "Okay, lets get this adventure going shall we?" Louis says energetically. "Calm down Louis it's way too early". Kiara jokes.  "Speaking of early lets go get some breakfast, I am hungry as hell". Saphira says while her stomach growls angrily. Saphira puts the car into drive, and pulls out of the parking lot into their new adventure. Several moments later they arrive at a Denny's and they all pile out of the car and walk towards the restaurant. They get seated and all look at their menu's studying its contents. "Belgium waffles?" Kiara says. They all nod their heads in agreement. "And eggs, bacon, and hash browns too." Louis says. "Hell yeah, lets order." Saphira chimes in. Louis begins ordering as Saphira chimes in. "Oh, lets get three mugs of hot chocolate." Saphira says eagerly. "Sounds good to me." Louis and Kiara agree in unison. Their food arrives moments later and they begin scarfing down their breakfast. "Man was that a delicious breakfast." Kiara says patting her full belly. Louis and Saphira agree with her and Louis begins standing up. "I'm going to the restroom. I'll be back in a bit. Louis walks towards the restroom entering it and then disappearing. "So, how do you feel about this trip so far Kiara?" Saphira asks. "Well it's good so far, nothing bad has happened to us." Kiara says. "Yet" Saphira jokes.  Kiara rolls her eyes. And begins looking around the restaurant as she does this the bell rings and a man in a red jacket walks in. He sees Kiara's stare and begins walking over. "Have you seen my wife. The man says with breath reeking of alcohol. "Um, no we haven't sorry." Kiara says weirded out. The man grabs Kiara's arm aggressively and she howls in pain. "Hey, let go off her fucking weirdo."Saphira shouts as she slaps the man in the face. This alerts the attention of the staff, and a man begins walking over. The man in the red jacket sees this and runs out of the building. "You two okay? Did he do anything weird?" The man says concerned. "No, luckily we were in this restaurant otherwise I don't know what would have happened." Kiara says. Louis appears out of the bathroom and sees the scared look on Kiara's face.  "What's going on? What happened?" Louis said concerned. "Some creepy ass dude tried hurting Kiara." Saphira said. The man pipes up. "I do apologize for this experience, I'll make it up to you guys by buying your breakfast." the man says. "You don't have to do this" Louis says. The man waves Louis off, saying without words to not worry about it.  The three of the friends get up and walk out of the restaurant to the car. "Man what a weird experience, I don't know if I can eat at Denny's ever again." Kiara said. "It was one drunk man, lets not wave off the deliciousness of Denny's over a man." Louis jokes. Saphira and Kiara roll their eyes in unison as Saphira puts the car into reverse back up, and then puts into drive pulling out of the Denny's.  "So we'll be driving for quite a bit, so who's going to take the next three hour shift once mine is over."Saphira says. "I'll do it I got quite a bit of energy." Louis chimes in. "Anyone else?" Saphira jokes. "Ha,Ha,Ha very funny. I'll have you know I am a good driver." Louis says. "Uh huh" Kiara says. Louis rolls his eyes, then proceeds to lay down in the back seat. Resting up for the next driving shift. He sleeps for what seems like seconds, and his awoken by Saphira asking if he's ready to drive. He gets up, stretches then yells back at her. "Yeah, I am ready." Louis says. She pulls the car over, puts the car in the park, then steps out of the car. Louis gets into the drivers seat, and applies the necessary safety requirements for driving. He pushes down on the brake, puts the car in drive then releases foot, and begins driving away. "Well here we go. Into the unknown again."
