A Good, Bad Idea

The Unexpected Route

"Hey Louis mind pulling over for a bit I got something to show you" Kiara says. Louis pulls the car over to the shoulder of the road and puts it in park. Louis looks over to see Kiara holding a map. "What is that for? We got smart phones now." Louis says confused. "Well you see your smart phones aren't so very smart." Kiara says in response. "What you-" Louis starts to say but is interrupted. Kiara slams a finger on to a road on the map. "Right here.... This isn't shown on google maps." Kiara says. Louis gives a confused look at Kiara's response then begins speaking. "What about it? It's just a road." Louis says. "This road would make traveling shorter it cuts our time down in half." Kiara says. Louis scratches his head and begins contemplating wild thoughts in his head. "Something wrong Louis" Kiara says in concern. "Um, no I am just thinking." Louis says. "So should we try it?" Kiara asks. "I mean I don't see why not. I've been driving for a good 2 hours a little cut down can't hurt." Louis says. He proceeds to put the car into drive, check his mirrors then pulls off.

A little while after the road mentioned previously appears into view. Louis puts his right turn signal on and then turns onto an old dirt road. "Well this isn't sketch at all" Louis says sarcastically. "Yeah, this is too weird. I feel like this wasn't on google maps for a reason. Kiara says with a hint of fear in her voice. "Yeah, let's turn around." Just as Louis says this a loud popping sound can be heard and then the car swerves. "Ah shit we blew a tire." Louis says as he tries to gain control of the car. Saphira jolts awake and begins yelling. "Hey what's going on guys. What was that noise." Saphira asks. "We blew a tire I do believe." Kiara says. Louis gains control of the car and pulls the car over to the side of the road. "Everyone alright?" Louis asks.  He looks over at everyone in the vehicle. With Kiara's a look of fear, and Saphira's a look of worry.  "Let's get out for a second." Kiara chimes in. They all step out on to the dirt road and begin checking out the tires. "Holy shit! What is this?" Saphira yells. Both Kiara and Louis rush over to her location to see Saphira holding some type of metal in her hand. They all look at each other in confusion then shake their heads in disbelief. "Let's try and drive a little further. Maybe there is gas station near by." Saphira says. Everyone hops into the car Kiara taking passenger side, Saphira taking drivers seat, and Louis getting the back. She put the key back into the engine and tries to start it. It tries to rev up but to no luck. "Guys it won't start." Saphira says. "Hey guys there's a town up that hill over there." Kiara chimes in." They all look to where Kiara is pointing and see a town with about 3 houses , and a church in view.  "Well unless we got a better idea I think we should start making our way up there." Louis says. The three friends look at each other, shake their head, and proceed to make their journey towards the small town.

"Well isn't this great. How did we even get here in the first place?" Saphira asks. "I found this road while looking at the map I found in the glove box..... I thought it'd be a good idea to travel on it since it was shorter." Kiara says. "Long story short, it was a bad idea. But lets not reminisce on it. "Louis says jokingly.  "Really Louis, you tell a joke now." Kiara says tiredly. "Whatever. Hey we're almost there!" Louis says. They make their way up to the town after 6 minutes of walking and start taking in the site before them. "I don't know about this place guys." Kiara says. "Well, got any other good ideas Kiara? I mean clearly not. Saphira says. "Okay, I was trying to help out. Excuse me for that Saphira." Kiara yells out. "Guys let's not fight. You two are best friends lets not lose that over silly mistake." Louis says. "Hello! HELLO!" Louis shouts. Louis looks around and notices a shuffling in one of the houses. "Did you guys see that?" Louis asks. "See what? This better not be one of your jokes." Saphira says.  "No, it's not. Someone was moving in that house in front of us. They were watching us. But when I looked-" Louis says. "They looked away." Says sternly. "I am going to go knock on this door." Saphira says. She begins walking up to the door and then knocks.  After 2 minutes she gives up and walks away from the door. "Nothing. This town is abandoned. And by the looks of it.... it has been abandoned for years. "It's getting late guys. I think we should camp out in that church tonight. Then we can go get help in the morning." Louis says. "Guys, I don't think that this is such a good idea. But if you think it's okay. I guess I have no other choice but to trust you guys." Kiara says. "Well, let's go in." Saphira says. They make their way towards the church then pull on the handles of the door. The door opened after a little pulling from Saphira. Then they walk inside.
