~ In the Future~
When Rayou erupted, a member of Claudia's family called Aimee was staying a little away from New Havon and Concardia. She had decided to write a description of events during this time.
~What She Wrote~
In the morning, the day presumed as normal, nothing extraordinary. A few tremors roamed about the place but nothing too much.
In the afternoon (about 1PM) my husband noticed a very strange looking cloud and told our family about it.
Obviously the cloud was rising from a mountain, but at that time it was hard to tell it was Rayou. The cloud itself was like an umbrella, it rose to a great hight on what looked like a trunk and then divided into parts. Sometimes it looked white, others it looked blotchy, it was all to do with the amount of soil and ashes it contained.
A while later you could see hot ashes falling thickly from the sky above, crashing into people's homes. The air was filled with falling stones which were blackened, charred and cracked by the flames.
It seemed impossible to escape Concardia as the shore to the sea was blocked off by lava. Meanwhile, on Mount Rayou, fires could be seen blazing in several places, they looked like bonfires kids would always light for fun.
Outside, the people faced falling pumice stones. Even though they were small they were dangerous. To protect themselves from falling objects, they put pillows on their heads and tied them down with cloths.
It should have been daylight by this time but they cloud made it completely dark. It was blacker than any ordinary night. They lit torches, and various kinds of lamps.
It must of been horrible in that time, all around Latania we have memorials for the people who died. There were many ways people suffered and died. Such as being crushed by buildings or pumice stones or by burning in lava or by choking on the sulphur fumes which faced the air.
Either way, everyone died...
Not a single survivor...
If only...
If only we were more prepared...
