Chapter 17. Adventures in Rome
One of the best feelings in life is when you wake up next to the man you'd purposely slept with the night before. It gives you this sense that you are wanted, appreciated, and not to mention maybe even good in bed.
Today was one of those mornings.
I woke up to the light shining in brightly through the window and two warm arms wrapped tightly around me. Andrew and I were spooning in a soft bed on a bright Summer morning in Rome, Italy. I could feel the slow beat of his heart drumming softly against my back.
I turned my body around to come face to face with perfectly sculpted abs just right in front of my line of vision. "Well hello there," I whispered, taking my hand and tracing the outlining curves.
"Why good morning Angela," Andrew suddenly whispered, catching me completely off guard.
I quickly retracted my hand. "Oh, I didn't realize you were awake," I said awkwardly, looking up to his face and blushing like crazy.
"Next time you should probably look up before you start feeling me up," he snickered.
"I wasn't feeling you up..." I said, blushing an even brighter crimson.
"You know, I would think that after the things we did last night you wouldn't still be getting embarrassed so easily," he chuckled, now taking his hand and tracing the outline of my face.
I chuckled. "I always get embarrassed, no matter what," I replied, taking his hand off my face and holding it in my hand. I scooted even closer to him under the sheets so I could lay my head underneath his chin. "No matter what guy."
Andrews eyes flashed. "Speaking of guys..." he said, clearing his throat. "The other day, when you were on the phone with Mandy, you said that you never really have men over, and there would obviously not be one there. Is that true?"
I sighed. I knew that since Andrew and I had sex together, things might get a little more personal.
"Well, yeah..." I mumbled. "Andrew, I've been pretty lonely these past few years to tell you the truth. I haven't had a boyfriend in God only knows how long, and maybe a few hook ups here and there... but nothing real or special. Most guys don't find me that attractive, but if they do; they see Mandy after and rather have her. So yes, it is true. I hardly ever have men in my life."
I waited for him to respond with a laugh or some rude comment like other men would do, but Andrew wasn't like other men in that way. I should have known he would never say anything to hurt me like that. But that doesn't mean that what he said next didn't come as a surprise.
He looked at me thoughtfully, and sat up on one elbow. "Then those men must be either blind or just complete nincompoops, because oh my God Angela, you are the most attractive person I have ever known," he said in complete seriousness. "I mean look at you! You're a goddess, and I am just so lucky to be with you right now. How on earth do I deserve someone as beautiful as you are? Those other men have no idea what they're missing out on, because last night was amazing. Your body is amazing. You are amazing."
