Leonardo's POV.

Smiling contently I rolled over tightening my hold over Zavi's waist and kissed her cheek with my eyes still closed.

Smiling into her eyes my lips touched her cheek. Next moment my mouth scrunched and I almost spat out.

Why are Zavi's soft looking cheeks tasting so bland?

Worried about her well being my eyes snapped open- my mind still fuzzy with sleep.

Holy cow!

I was in my bed- alone and dreaming of having Zavi in my arms.

I had just planted a resounding morning kiss on my pillow!

"Phffffftttt.." I tried to get the bland taste out of my tongue, feeling silly.

Flinging the offending pillow away I got up and put down my feet on the floor only to wince at the slight pain at my ankle.

I had completely forgotten about my ankle's adventure of the previous evening.

Nothing could take away the smile as the final hours of the previous day came into my mind.

Zavi.

Zavi had come to check on me and we had dinner together.

The smile on my face converted into a broad grin. At last I had the dinner with Zavi that I had wanted from the moment I had realised I wanted to get to know this woman.

Over the months we have shared meals especially while planning things for Martha's health or during parties, but last night was different.

She had come to me out of her concern for me and the time we spent together was for us and not for any other reason.

It might be a tiny step, but to my mind it was that ray of light in a pitch dark room that I have been hoping to glimpse for a long time.

My heart seemed to be on a mission to dance a rhythm of it's own and I did not mind. Let it jump and hop in my chest till I have my Zavi around me to calm me.

Getting ready before stepping out of my room was an effort. Finally after few debacles as I hopped around on one foot, I got myself presentable and ready .

Trying to wipe off the happy grin off my face was a bigger effort and I let it grace my face as I went in search of Zavi.

"It's a bright morning for someone I see." I heard a familiar voice drawl and turned to see Dhruv standing few paces behind me, outside his room which was adjacent to mine.

I shrugged, my grin still in place.

"The ankle seems to be better." Dhruv continued as he eyed my ankle and with that came back the memory of his traitorous conduct of last evening.

Scowling at the memory I just grunted in response. I started to turn away to go and look for Zavi but Dhruv had other plans.

"There is Dr Leo!" he said enthusiastically as he spotted him standing in the deck below "Here Doctor, your patient is here." he waved at Sam like the blasted Doctor was his buddy and not I.

Luckily Sam did not come towards me but waved back with a cheerful smile. "Be sure not to put much pressure on the foot Mr Norcross." He called out.

I decided to ignore him. After all I am known to be arrogant and I am happy to be my normal natural self,

My heart danced the very next moment when my eyes fell on the person who stepped out behind him from his room.

Zavi.
