Jessica got up from the table and went into the living room where she turned on the radio and when the next song came on she felt tears starting to form in her eyes. 'Say Anything'

'If no-one ever asks me again, about us I'd be okay. It's like stepping out of a haze and being pushed back in'

Jessica wiped away a stray tear and wondered why she was crying.

'It's just like salt, put on a wound, every word keeps cutting through. Say something stupid, something distracting or leave it alone and don't say anything''

Why does hearing this song make her feel so lost?

Jessica fell to her knees by the sofa and her memory started to flood back, not of her mother but of last night.

"Hannah's blood cures people like you. Special."

"Forget Hannah. Kiss me."

Jessica's face turned green, metaphorically. She held her stomach and then ran upstairs to the bathroom where she began to throw up.

"Looks like someone has morning sickness" A familiar voice said.

Coming into view it was Killgrave. He was leaning against the door frame of the bathroom.

"I suppose we should have used protection but what can I say, it was in the moment and we do want a family after all"

His word turned into acid in Jessica's ears. She could taste the vile words in her mouth.

How. How did he get her to sleep with him.

'I'll die before I let that happen'

'But my dear Jessica, it is already happening.'

'I'm back'

"I have to go get some air." Jessica said wiping her face and leaving the house. As she got to the door and shut it a voice called over to her.

"Psst. Did you find her?" A little lady bobbed over the fence.

"Excuse me. Who?" Jessica said baffled.

"Hannah!" The woman squawked.

'Hannah'

The voices screamed in Jessica's head. What was happening. Jessica ran off into the direction of the marina, shaking and yelling for the voices to 'shut up' and 'go away'

Jessica stopped and watched as a boat pulled into dock. She skipped a few rocks and took a deep breath. She walked along the marina pier to the edge then jumped in the water.

Time began to stand still and Jessica watched her memories become alive in the deep around her.

She softly swished and swayed in the water looking around at different memories.

The car crash that killed her father and brother.

Breaking the bathroom sink then saving Trish from her mothers abuse.

Killgrave finding her on that street.

Him ordering her to 'take care' of Luke's wife

Luke. Hope.

Killing Killgrave. Him coming back.

Finding her thought to be dead mother

Trish shooting her mother.

Finding a girl who can 'cure'  named Hannah.

Killgrave's voice. Low, calm and intimate.

Jessica let out all the air she had, then kicked to the surface.

Jessica climbed out of the water and lay on the sidewalk.

"I know how to stop him. Now to figure out how to do so without him using that tone on me."

"What are you doing on the floor all wet?" A familiar child's voice asked. Blocking out the sun Jessica saw it was Vito and his dad. They both had ice-cream in their hands.

"Oh hey, Long story short, I went for a swim" Jessica said getting to her feet.

"With all your clothes on?" Vito laughed. Oscar smiled.

Oscar, Jessica and Vito walked along the path towards the park where Vito went to play and Jessica and Oscar sat on a bench to talk.
