It was the year she was going to try and improve. It was her senior year and she just wanted to do the fun things that come with being an upperclassman. I guess she was okay for a while. And she truly believed it was going to last. She thought she finally found a way to stop being miserable. But days went on, and it got overwhelming. She didn't know why she felt overwhelmed but she did. She started to skip school, ditch first period, just trying to run away from her life. School was shit. She hated it. She didn't know how to deal with anything anymore.
IT WAS HER SENIOR YEAR!

She wanted to be okay. But of course, that wasn't going to happen. She tried to handle it the best she could but in the end, she ended up with the wrong crowd.

She ended up taking pills and snorting powder just to feel fine and happy. She didn't have any worries when she was high.

When the effects of the drugs were wearing off, she would go crazy not wanting to feel those horrible emotions she tries to hide and ignore.

She really thought nobody noticed. And if they did, they didn't care. If they did, wouldn't someone try to save her by now?

Meanwhile, when her parents would try to talk to her she would just scream and not have it. Her parents would worry and ask why she was acting like that. Why she would always come home late, where she would go, who she was with, and she was failing school? Her parents just wanted to talk to her. The real her, not to one that would get mad and walk away every time she was asked a question.

She didn't understand that people around her were trying to help. All she cared about and saw were the drugs. Getting high was a bliss she didn't want it to stop.

But eventually, every high has a low. She hit her low. She couldn't get her fix. Her parents were helping but she didn't see it that way.

It was close to the end of senior year, and she noticed that she was worst of than the beginning. She really had been high that whole semester? She really didn't notice how time went by? Drugs were supposed to fix her but it broke her even more.

Of course, she failed her senior year. For some reason, this brought her back. Knowing that if she kept going she was just going to die. She didn't want to die, she just wanted help.

Her parents had kicked her out, she didn't have any friends, she didn't have anywhere to go. Realizing she wanted help she went back home.

Her parents were not so trusting that she really was going to work on herself, but still accepted her because they wanted to see her get better and have a life rather than burying her at the age of 19.

It took years, but ultimately, she got better.

She will never forget her parents' help, her family's help. She is grateful that they didn't give up on her.

Senior year, who knew that high school can lead to these choices?
