Elliot sat on the edge of the pool at four in the morning, putting his legs in the cold water as the feeling of emptiness filled him. The chilly weather surrounded him as he shivered, wishing for the feeling of warmth that he began to feel so foreign to. Holding his bare arms and taking a deep breath, he listened to the sounds of nature and the occasional sound of a car passing by on the street as he stared into the everlasting darkness and the twinkling stars that would soon disappear.

As he looked on into the early, dark morning, his mind began to race with all of the words that he had been told by the one person he can't seem to get out of his mind. The songs, the memories, it seems like everything reminds him of that one person. That one person was his world, and he never wanted him to go away.

Soon enough, the sun begin to rise as Elliot continued to stay lost in thought. The warmth of the sun hit his pale skin, the gold color of it lingering on his lips and eyelashes as his cheeks and nose remained a soft shade of blush from the cold. He sighed as he moved his legs slowly through the water, feeling exhausted from being up so early and not being able to sleep.

Looking at the beautiful sunrise, he was too distracted to hear the screen door open.

Lukas, the person who Elliot cared and loved so much, was running over to him, carrying a blanket. His hair was ruffled, his face was full of worry, and his brown eyes that so much resembled melted chocolate glowed in the sunlight. Elliot, feeling half asleep, didn't realize Lukas was there until he put the warm, fuzzy blanket over him and picked him up, lifting his now wrinkled feet out of the water. He finally realized how cold he actually was, and started shivering.

The two went inside and sat by the mahogany colored sofa near the brick fireplace. Elliot was asked many questions about why he was outside, but was too tired to answer, so Lukas' questions remained unanswered. All Elliot did was cuddle up against him when he was hugged tightly and told that he was loved and that everything would be alright soon.

And for the first time, he truly believed that he was loved. Elliot felt millions of butterflies in his stomach as he looked into Lukas' eyes as they cuddled up together, not saying anything. It felt like all of his dreams came true at once, and he never wanted to let go. He slowly began to fall asleep as they watched the rest of the sunrise, feeling his worries slip away for that short amount of time.

That was all he wanted. And he would never let go.
